  1. The AL has less s***ty teams than the NL. That's pretty much why the AL is considered to be stronger. The good NL teams can definitely beat the good AL teams and vice versa. The Rangers were one strike away from winning it two nights ago.
  2. Seeing the Cards celebrate gave me goosebumps.
  3. BF3 for PC is unreal. I can't even get a consistent 30 FPS on high with no AA and I have a 5770 (about a two year old card, but still plays every other game out there just fine). But then again, I didn't bother to overclock the card lately, maybe I'll do that just for this game. This game makes Crysis look mediocre.
  4. Holy crap, that is the first 10 IGN's given out to a non-Mario game since GTA 4.
  5. He's gonna ruin Freddy Freeman and Jason Heyward.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 05:28 PM) This is the general manager of the team. He spends Spring Training with them. He's turned over a table mid-season before. The General Manager being present should not add to dysfunction. The GM deserves to know WTF is going on with his team too...
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 18, 2011 -> 02:29 PM) Cowley's reports are one-sided, but KW and Jerry won't talk to him, so hey, he gets to fire away with one side of the story. I can't believe people aren't a bit concerned about Coop after it was alleged he was a rat and snitch. Who's gonna want to pitch for him if that's true? Telling the GM what happens in the locker room doesn't make him a snitch. WTF is this now? Are we in the hood where we can't talk to the 5-O or something?
  8. Coop and Kenny should both not say a word about this afterwards. Let Ozzie mouth off and make a fool of himself.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 05:45 PM) Viciedo belongs there. He's limited in range but has a cannon for an arm, which allows him a shot at making throws to 3b that Rios can't make. The LF doesn't get many shots at throwing a guy out at 1b. Range is more important than arm strength IMO. Rios was a great RF in Toronto and I'm sure he'll still be a good LF here next year. The thing with Rios is that he takes his bat to the outfield with him. If he sucks at the plate, he also sucks in the outfield...
  10. Why not just put Rios back in RF?
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 12:40 AM) I don't know how you can overrate Suh. Maybe if you said he was the best defensive tackle of all time. I haven't seen a defensive player have that type of immediate impact in a really long time. --- Can't say I'm not happy about the Bills being 4-2 at this point, especially since both losses have been by 3 points and I had no expectations for this team other than 6 wins going into the season, but they really should have won today, and it all happened on Fitzpatrick's 2nd INT. His 1st INT was a ball he should have never thrown, but it was also a ball that Webster should have never picked either and it was incredible that he did. Stevie Johnson had Webster beat on that last one pretty badly and if Fitz leads him instead of throwing up a jump ball, then the Bills go up 31-24 and force the Giants to punch it in. If not that, they were on the Giants 30 and could have simply run it a few times, maybe tried to pick up a 1st, and killed clock, forcing Eli to make a comeback. The officials seemed to side with the Giants, but that's homefield advantage and it wasn't enough to kill the Bills. The Giants DBs are not that good either. All they do is follow exactly where the receiver goes and turn around when he goes up for the catch to make it legal. Teams should totally take advantage of that by dekeing the DBs...just have a WR go up for a phantom pass, have the DB turn around, and have the WR turn on the jets. They'd be toast and it would make them second guess their tendencies. Fitzpatrick rushed that throw. He was still back pedaling when he got rid of it. Johnson had Webster beat.
  12. I don't know who to root for. The Cardinals are kind of my second team, but I really like this Rangers team. Mostly because they beat Detroit.
  13. Good to see the Tigers lose. The Rangers are the better team by far. What a job by Daniels and Ryan to bring that organization back to winning big.
  14. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 05:35 PM) Zook is the worst clock management and decision maker, I have EVER seen in a college coach. My 10 yr old on Madden makes better decisions. Not using timeouts at the 5 minute mark was just ridiculously stupid. I actually did think they should have gone for it on 4th and 2 at the end, but the fact that Scheelhasse and Jenkins weren't even on the same page is ridiculous. The clock wasn't even running, at least make sure you're calling the right play.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Oct 15, 2011 -> 05:26 PM) Ron Zook is such a f***ing idiot. Also, Paul Petrino was brutal today. No idea why they were so conservative on offense today. Not going for it on the 4th and short in the first half and punting set the tone for the rest of the game on offense. Agreed. Zook is just...ugh. But really, at the end of the day, Scheelhasse and Jenkins didn't perform. And Bradley Roby is a b****. That PI he had on Jenkins was not only stupid, but it was dirty as hell. He's lucky they only give 15 yard PIs in college...
  16. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 09:20 PM) Kind of disappointing. Brett was one of the few quality beat guys around. His stuff was somewhat Saber inclined which is a nice change of pace. Funny how he's out of a job yet Cowley still has one.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 01:26 PM) I took your advice. They think Walker is OK and they love Seitzer. The vast majority chose Seitzer but had nothing bad to say about Walker. Have you ever considered a career in professional polling? You outta work for the news networks during the elections.
  18. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Oct 12, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) This and the Red Sox talk will give birth to a whole slew of Miller Lite commercials-imagine Lillibridge telling Adam Dunn to "Man-Up" Oh god, that'll be brilliant. Or they can do Real Men of Genius commercials. We salute you Adam Dunn for sipping beer during games and hitting .159!
  19. The Cubs probably won't spend big for a while and the pieces they have right now don't fit Epstein's approach to building a baseball team. He's going to need at least a few years to get the right pieces together before this Cubs team can win again.
  20. So Kenny actually thought about making Paulie a player-manager? The fact that he even thought that is ridiculous.
  21. If you can get a couple of top 20 prospects, then by all means, do it. He's not getting any younger. I don't care how great of a hitter he is, if we're gonna rebuild, trade him for the right price.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 12:02 AM) Well, what you mentioned is more on Martz. But Lovie hired him! I loved the coming out to go for it on 4th and 1 (wrong decision), burn a timeout (stupid), STILL make the wrong decision on 4th and 1, predictably get stuffed, then completely waste a challenge/another timeout when he was clearly short sequence. Outstanding. I said the coaching staff as a whole, but yes, that is mostly on Martz. And yeah, that was signature terrible Lovie.
  23. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:51 PM) It's both sides fault. People love to just blame one side, but usually, the truth lies in the middle. The players are not willing to give enough back considering so many teams are losing a ton of money, and the owners are trying to get back way more than is realistic. Nobody is willing to budge and look like the loser. To a point, but I think in this situation, where the majority of the league is losing money, a 50-50 split isn't that unfair.
  24. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 11:48 PM) Lovie is a pretty good coach IMO. Far from great, but overall slightly above average. He was TERRIBLE tonight though. A stupid 4th and 1 call, a stupid challenge, 3 timeouts in the 1st quarter (although that was the offense, but it still comes back to teh head coach), big plays galore being allowed by his defense specifically designed to stop big plays. At the end of the day though, this is on Jerry Angelo. This defense is old, bad, and washed up right now. He hasn't done a good enough job infusing young talent on that side of the ball to go with the aging starters. And the offense is just laughable beyond Forte and Cutler. They've played 5 games, and already have NO shot at finishing higher than 3rd in the NFC North and 6th in the NFC as a whole. The time management of this team is horrendous. That's always been something that has plagued this coaching staff, especially this season. How many times has Cutler come to the sideline annoyed that he can't get the play off since he doesn't have the play call on time? And it is on Jerry Angelo. The fact that he couldn't go out and sign some big pieces to the O-line is inexcusable.
  25. You gotta love it when super rich people argue over large sums of money like they're poor or something. It's hard to side with the players when the majority of the owners are losing money and when the NBA has some of the most screwed up contracts in all of sports.
