Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2012 -> 10:00 PM) If this franchise had any f***ing clue, they'd have traded Sale for immense value if they internally did not believe he could hold up. All reports state that he wanted to continue starting. Let him go out there a couple more times, make some wild offer (UM DAVID WRIGHT ANYONE??) and upgrade the roster. Tell me Morel + Sale doesn't get you Wright (prior to so publicly pissing on your player's value?) God, this organization is being run by a dolt. Well, Sale alone should get you more than Wright if other teams had no concern over his mechanics. Plus, Wright's making a ton of money, money we kind of don't have.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
Horrible execution, bad coaching. Nobody really stepped up late in the game. Plus, why didn't Watson play at all in the 4th? JL3 did nothing but dribble out the shot clock and take horrible shots.

Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)
I was just looking at Sale's mechanics earlier in the year, trying to see if his inverted W was going to be an issue. Not all inverted W's cause issues in pitchers, it's the pitching arm being horizontal (and not vertical) when the front foot is already planted that can overload the shoulder/elbow and cause injuries. I didn't come up with anything too conclusive, but it looks like his mechanics will cause arm issues.

Chris Sale is now the CLOSER?!/Until he's not (Update)
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 4, 2012 -> 04:35 PM) Sale is 3-1, with 28 ks in 32 IP, and they do this. WTF. He must have told them his arm wasn't feeling too hot. His velocity was down in his last start.

Wait, what the hell?

And that's a White Sox Winner?
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:18 AM) Whoever missed that game missed a great, fun one. I fully expect the entire Indians infield to be sent down to A ball by tomorrow. How the hell do you miss infield pop ups? I understand one of them was because there was a lot of smoke left by the fireworks, but come on...

And that's a White Sox Winner?
QUOTE (witesoxfan @ May 2, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) That was such a fun game to watch. De Aza absolutely SMOKED that double. He did smoke a pitch right at Jimenez later on, but that resulted in a fielder's choice. I guess things sort of evened out.

Closing Time
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 09:05 AM) Also a little more breakdown on the same topic http://fanpeeps.com/-pl9j Yeah, there's a difference in his arm speed and it's quite noticeable. It looks like he's finishing up the changeup a lot slower than the fastball. That's a big no-no. That changeup's location wasn't all that bad, although it was in the zone.

Moose Skowron dies
QUOTE (SAVVY18 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 01:28 PM) Dammit. It was a blast listening to Moose on with Farmio & DJ. RIP Moose! Nothing against the guy, but when he was in the booth on the radio broadcast, I had no idea what was going on in the game. I'd be fine with whatever he did if it was on TV, because I can actually follow the game. RIP Moose.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) DELETE Stupid internet here in China while I'm using proxy/VPN to get on FB always double-clicks. There's been so many issues with it since the BO XILAI/murder mystery/corruption case broke into the public eye, and the blind human rights attorney that Christian Bale unsuccessfully tried to visit while here in China also escaped from his guards sometime yesterday to Beijing as well. FWIW, the Jason Shank at FB is from Nebraska, lives in Schaumburg, is a big Nebraska Cornhuskers fan and went to Robert Morris. You can delete posts yourself actually, there's an option when you click the edit button on your post.

2011-2012 NBA Season Thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Apr 27, 2012 -> 11:22 AM) Dejuan Blair was an absolute steal of a draft pick. And Green was always a pretty high ceiling guy. IMO Thibs did a better job because he lost 3 of his starts for a pretty significant amount of the year and still won with a bunch of no name scrubs. Are your numbers about the east/west playoff teams against other playoff teams only, or the whole division? The bottom of the east is clearly worse than the bottom of the west. Gibson, IMO, was the better steal in that draft. I wish we would have drafted Blair instead of James Johnson.

2012 Cubs thread
QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Apr 22, 2012 -> 12:10 PM) Wasn't Bowden just considered an elite prospect? Or am I 3yrs behind? The guy went to my high school. I remember when he started against the Sox in 08. He lucked out and got the win. Then I got s*** from my government teacher since he was the varsity baseball coach when Bowden played (he knew I was a Sox fan, he's a Cubs fan).

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:57 PM) Think they'll kick the tires on Mike Gonzalez after today? I hate that guy. His windup is so weird and awful to watch. He takes forever to throw a damn pitch. I think we're fine. Santiago should be a LOOGY, have Thornton or Reed close.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:39 PM) It's quite obvious that Santiago just cannot face right handed hitters. You cannot have that as your closer. He'd be alright in the Will Ohman role. He's made some lefties look awful.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:36 PM) On the plus side, our pitching has been unreal outside of the blown save. Starting pitching is exceptional. In games where Santiago has blown a save, the bullpen has given up 12 runs. In conclusion, it's Santiago's fault. He shouldn't be closing.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
That sucked big time.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:32 PM) Yeah, that was bigger than the homer. If Santiago gets Reddick, we'd still be winning. So yes, it was a huge part of the inning.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:31 PM) Ok, that's enough for Santiago. I'd rather Jones close. Reed should be closing. Jones' control is still too suspect. Oh great, here's Suzuki. I've got a really bad feeling about this.
-
White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
Santiago looked like he had Reddick dead to rights, but couldn't finish him off. That was the big part of the inning.
-
White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
DUDE, really? You don't pitch to him. Smith is on deck, deal with him. GOD DAMN IT.

That one scared me, good thing Cespedes missed it.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
Cespedes' walk up music is dubstep...weird.

White Sox @ Oakland 4.25 game thread 2:35pm
f***! Please pitch around Cespedes.

QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Apr 25, 2012 -> 06:25 PM) I think those of us still watching after all of the horrid things the Sox have done to try and lose this game are good fans... We're some of the most dedicated fans of this fanbase. Who else would stick through a game like this?
