2011-2012 OFFICIAL NBA LOCKOUT thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:58 PM) I understand win shares. But other metrics say Bosh was better. Where's the cutoff? This Bulls team didn't go from 41 wins to 62 because of Rose. I'm sorry. I don't buy that. Never have. He's not Jordan. A lot of the team's improvement is from defense. But Rose probably added 6-7 wins by himself this past year in comparison to his 2010 season. Other metrics like PER favor PFs over PGs. Chris Bosh has a better PER in 2010 than CP3 did last year. Does that make Bosh better than CP3?

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:52 PM) What? This shocks me coming from you. Bosh in '10 was better than Rose in '11. I'm just saying what the advanced stats tell me. I'm not sure PER is the best way to compare a big man vs. a PG. And Bosh looked like utter s*** last year at times. Rose will probably never shoot 1 of 17 regardless of who he plays with.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Yes, Bosh as the lead dog is better than Rose. Rose is not as good playing wise LeBron and Wade. Bosh has never put up a season like Rose's MVP season. He's never gone far above 10 win shares in his entire career. Rose had 13.5 last year.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) Did I miss something? Asik is not that good. A decent backup? Yes. The Heat have three players better than Rose. We need to aim higher. They do?

QUOTE (scenario @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Marquette alum adding my two cents... Butler is a solid role-playertype pick... offensively, he's an effective slasher who needs to improve his outside shot.... sort of a poor-man's Luol Deng. Strong defender who can defend multiple positions... 2, 3, or 4. Should fit well into Thib's system. Thibs must have wanted him for that.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:39 PM) Problem with Mack is hes a 2 in a 1s body. Probably a solid back up combo guard, but not sure if you want him starting on a great team. There are far too many short 2 guards in this draft.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:28 PM) Butler should be a solid 4th 3 on a championship roster. The Bulls didn't even have a backup for Deng last year. At least they do now.

I don't dislike Mirotic, I'm just not sure I like that he got picked 23rd. He's a highly efficient player, although he's done that in limited PT.

QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:17 PM) They only have so many roster spots. Get used to it because they'll be making a lot of picks like this in the near future. And overreaching on what some considered the 7th best prospect in the draft is the same thing they did with Asik. That worked out well, didn't it? I never said that they should take two college players. I just thought it would have been smarter to draft a guy who can help the team right now first.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:14 PM) And Johnson. I don't care for him that much. I personally think Harper is a better fit for this team if they're going to draft a 4.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 09:13 PM) Yeah since pick 28 is loaded with players that can produce immediately on a contending team. They passed on Brooks and Hamilton. Hamilton is going to get flipped for Rudy Fernandez, who the Bulls coveted for years. And it could be that the Bulls overreached on Mirotic. Most teams aren't going to take a player who won't come over for 3-4 years.
