  1. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 11:50 PM) http://drunkathlete.com/2008/09/08/jake-pe...uy-out-the-bar/ Hahaha they went to Kam's? Hahaha, awesome.
  2. QUOTE (hitlesswonder @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:50 AM) On the plus side, Chris Paul supposedly said that he and Carmelo are planning on coming to the Knicks to form their own Big Three there...that's a team that would be able to compete with the Heat...but we have to wait 2 years for that and I have trouble of thinking of a team I dislike more than NY and Miami.... I don't want to root for the freaking Knicks...
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:49 AM) Juwan Howard?? I thought he was already retired, does he even have anything left? Who knows. All I know is that he only needs to play like 10 minutes a game.
  4. Hell, if Alexei was hitting better, he probably could have made the team.
  5. It's been a sad couple of days for the Yankees and their fans. RIP.
  6. Looks like they're emulating the 2003 White Sox.
  7. No thanks. Right handed, pretty bad production (.320 wOBA for a DH? I'd rather have Kotsay or Teahen), and will actually cost prospects. His defense at 3B is nothing stellar, in fact, he's not any better than Teahen. Gaby Sanchez would make more sense, but we're not getting him.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 10:33 PM) I thought someone said he worked for the Jays front office during the Sirotka/Wells deal. What a bastard huh... It's not like David Wells did us any good.
  9. That Heat roster is looking pretty good. PG Chalmers SG Wade SF James PF Bosh C Haslem SF Miller PF Howard PG Dooling (probably re-signing) They're only a couple of guys away...
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 13, 2010 -> 09:11 AM) I agree Jeter is not having his best year, but take a look at the list of AL shortstops this year, it doesnt get much better. Elvis Andrus and Alex Gonzalez have been just as good, if not better. I have more of an issue with Jeter hitting second when Carl Crawford and Robinson Cano are hitting 8th and 9th.
  11. Anybody see these lineups yet? AL 1. Ichiro RF 2. Jeter SS (He doesn't really deserve to be in the game, let alone hitting second...) 3. Cabrera 1B 4. Hamilton CF (Ichiro should be playing center, Hamilton's D is meh) 5. Guerrero DH 6. Longoria 3B 7. Mauer C 8. Cano 2B (A bit low for him, he's one of the best hitters in this lineup) 9. Crawford LF (Should be higher, his bat is getting wasted down here while Jeter's getting more PAs) SP. Price (Where's Cliff Lee?) NL 1. Ramirez SS 2. Prado 2B 3. Pujols 1B 4. Howard DH (Votto gets snubbed twice, he should be DHing) 5. Wright 3B 6. Braun LF 7. Ethier CF (LMAO, Ethier can't even play right field, how can he play center? This should be Marlon Byrd's spot, Corey Hart shouldn't be starting). 8. Hart RF 9. Molina C (I feel bad for Miguel Olivo) SP. Jimenez I seriously thought Charlie Manuel was smarter than this, his lineup, along with Ethier in center field just makes it look like the NL wants to lose. Good thing this won't be the setup all game.
  12. I saw that D-Wade posted something about his kids on his Facebook. I really wanted to say something like, "In Dwyane's World, LeBron and Chris Bosh >>>>>>> D-Wade's kids".
  13. Possible Candidates - Opening Day (Mark Buehrle's flip play, Rios' diving catch) - vs. Toronto (Mark Teahen's home run to tie it, double to give us the lead) - Seattle series (Andruw's walk-off, Rios' walk-off, Konerko's go ahead homer) - vs. Tampa Bay (Nix's grand slam) - vs. Cleveland (Come back win, might have been the source of streak) - vs. Detroit (LilliBOMB) - vs. Washington (Rios' go-ahead single in Strasburg game, Peavy's shutout) - vs. Atlanta (Quentin's three home runs, Konerko's go ahead in game 3) - vs. Cubs (Quentin's 3 run homer in game 1, Konerko's go ahead homer in game 2) - vs. Rangers (Mark Klutchsay, Alexei's go-ahead homer in game 3) - vs. Angels (Q's bombs vs. Kazmir and co., Danks' shutout). - vs. Royals (Q's 4 home runs in 2 games, Andruw's 400th). Got anymore?
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 12:03 AM) In honor of the Cubs closing a strong first half with a 7-0 loss last night (and because I think fathom made this video. ) Note: NSFW language. Blow Cubs Blow Steve | MySpace Video If Fathom made that, he is pretty bad at singing.
  15. Matt Holliday.
  16. Make a good list, I'll make a montage of this if you all would like.
  17. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 05:19 PM) I don't know why people don't like Stone - yeah he's pretty dry, but he really knows his s***. "Uninsightful" is about the most inaccurate word to describe him I can think of. I especially like it when he says something like "now would be a good time for (pitcher) to use his splitter" and 10 seconds later is a swinging strike 3 on a splitter. The only problem I have with Stoney is that his analysis of home runs are extremely obvious. Example, "Marte leaves a fastball on the inside half and Quentin crushes it." Steve, I see that it was a fastball and I see that it was on the inside half. And I definitely saw that Carlos crushed it. I do like it when he predicts pitches though. He predicted that changeup from Kazmir to Quentin the other night flawlessly.
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:32 PM) I am a little late to this party, but I don't know how anybody could ever determine Dwyane Wade is a good defender. He is to basketball defense what the guy who makes a bunch of diving catches but has no range is to baseball defense. He does a lot of stuff that looks spectacular, but overall he's not good at it. In other words, he is the Nate McLouth of basketball defense.
  19. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) Does anyone know why Keith Law hates the Sox? Only Keith Law knows.
  20. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:09 PM) People are speculating in Orlando that Otis Smith may still match the Redick offer. Q-Rich is getting the remainder of the MLE (the rest was given to Duhon) and he'll be starting at SF for us next season in place of Matt Barnes. That gives us 3 options at the wing spots now in Carter, Q-Rich and Pietrus, and that could still be 4 if Redick is kept. Nothing really surprises me with Otis these days, I thought there was no chance we matched Gortat's offer from Dallas last off-season and he did, so the same could still happen here. If we do that, then we'll be paying a LOT of tax this season, but we've got VC's expiring deal of about $16M to come off the books 1 season from now also. How much would they have to pay Redick if they matched?
  21. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 04:08 PM) I assume that number for Boozer is heavily influenced by his rebounding. The Jazz defense was almost 6 points WORSE per 100 possessions with him on the floor. Probably and Boozer's previous defensive ratings were never this good, he got close a couple of times though. Boozer's not as bad as some people thing he is though.
  22. J.J. Redick was second in offensive rating last year at 123...holy crap.
  23. Thibs gets Boozer and Noah, both were leaders in defensive rating last year. Noah 9th, Boozer 16th.
  24. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 12, 2010 -> 07:49 AM) 12 seasons, 6 playoffs with Cleveland. 3.5 seasons, 1 playoff with the Sox. Absolutely no way he doesn't wear an Indians hat But, but, the Indians fans BOO'd him!
  25. It seems like we get a new meme or awesome GIF from every world cup final game. In 06, it was Zidane's headbutt. This year, it's De Jong drop kicking Xabi Alonso. Awesome, just imagine a big hole behind Alonso and Leonidas' face on De Jong's body yelling, "THIS IS SPARTA!".
