Sox not interested in Washburn
QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 10:10 PM) I'm suprised Seattle didn't re-sign him, especially when they've had likes of Snell and Rowland-Smith starting for them this season. Those two will probably end up with better numbers than Washburn at the end of the year.

Time to change the top of the order
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 08:04 PM) Pierre mercifully being removed from leading off is the good news. The bad is Ozzie is considering Teahen, a guy whose biggest offensive weapon is a walk and a guy who strikes out a ton and is a brutal 3rd baseman, as the leadoff hitter. That's good for a leadoff hitter.

Sox not interested in Washburn
Why the hell would this team want Washburn? He would get murdered at the Cell, being the fly ball pitcher that he is.

How good are The Rays?
What's scary is that Zobrist have been hitting like crap and they're still winning...

Juan Pierre loses leadoff role
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 07:17 PM) His career high in GIDP is 10. I wouldn't call that "prone". He's already 2/5 of the way there this year. This says he's lost a lot of speed. With as many grounders as he hits, I wouldn't be surprised if he hits into 15 this year.

Juan Pierre loses leadoff role
QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) Actually, if Pierre hits nothing but groundballs, then I would be worried about him hitting into more doubleplays if he bats 2nd. Kinda defeats the purpose there. I think it might be best to bat him 9th, and if he gets on base, then that's just a bonus. He hit into two last night. He's prone to those.

Juan Pierre loses leadoff role
THANK GOD! Rios at leadoff now?

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (SoxAce @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:43 PM) Jim, I'm sure you are pissed that Span pretty much got screwed on that "dropped fly ball" by the same umpire that threw him out the previous game. Changed the whole game giving Detroit 4 outs. (don't mean to sound like Hawk, but it actually did) For some reason, at the end of that, I saw the ball moving around in his glove. Could be that he was trying to get the ball out and it moved. It looks like he did catch it though.

2010 MLB Catch-All Thread
His base running is bad though... If we think Pods gets picked off a lot, Andrus gets picked off a lot more. But with his inexperience, you kind of expect that.

April Catch All White Sox Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 11:03 PM) He's not the man, but I guess that's besides the point. Uh, Paulie is the man. Buehrle is the man. No way is Beckham the man. Ozzie is trying to tell him to relax, that he's not the man and shouldn't feel the pressure of being the man. He also said that nobody will be the man as long as he manages the team. You can interpret this in two ways 1) He doesn't want anybody to feel too much pressure 2) He's selfish and wants all the attention on him

What's wrong with Jake Peavy?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 29, 2010 -> 12:04 AM) I love that show. That decoy named Casey is foine. Looks like you might be on that show one day in the future, lol. Will you run at the sight of Chris Hansen or will you give in to his "have a seat, just have a seat" line?

If you're KW, who's on your BIG BOARD to replace Ozzie?
QUOTE (Markbilliards @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:55 PM) How bout Steve Stone? I don't think he wants to manage. He'd make a good manager though, at least with the game decisions.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:04 PM) I know Ozzie's not really a stats guy, but KW should really kick him in the penis for putting a lineup like that out there. Kenny's not one either. Rick Hahn is though. The White Sox lead the league in GIDP BTW.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 10:01 PM) DID we really start a line-up with lowest cumulative OPS after APRIL 28th in the history of MLB? I just heard that from the Rangers' announcers, they were belittling N. Perez for giving up hits to AJ, Ramirez and ALMOST Kotsay, who actually blistered a ball at SMOAK. You can run a computer simulation with our line-up, we would win that game one time out of ten with our line-up. That is HILARIOUS.

White Sox @ Rangers
Juan Pierre had a -.195 WPA today. BAD.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (kane0730 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:58 PM) Don't know who I hate more right now: Ozzie for letting Juan hit or Juan sucking at baseball. Ozzie's the one sticking with him.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:56 PM) And of course our slap and tickle leadoff guy makes the last out. This game actually made Pierre look alright. He got on base twice, when in fact, he was absolutely atrocious. And as I type this, a commercial about Pierre is airing. Stupid.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (TitoMB @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) What do SABRmetrics say about the number of games a manager costs a team? Anything? Is there any kind of stat for it? He looked safe to me. Nothing and he did look semi-safe.

White Sox @ Rangers
Once again, Ozzie sucks at managing...
-
White Sox @ Rangers
I don't get this. Ozzie lets Pierre bat, but makes Jones wait on deck?
-
White Sox @ Rangers
Pierre up. Say goodbye close game. Key of this game: Ozzie f***ing around with Peavy in the 7th and making Williams lose the game again.

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:52 PM) Was CQ grimacing as he was rounding third, or is that just the way he looks? He was grimacing when he got to second.

White Sox @ Rangers
How big was that run Williams gave up now?

White Sox @ Rangers
QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 28, 2010 -> 09:51 PM) Kotsay and Vizquel 0-6 combined. Hawk will be talking about that liner for the rest of the season. Don't get me started.
