QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Oct 23, 2009 -> 09:11 AM) Jailbreaking is very dangerous. If you screw it up, or something goes wrong, you have a completely dead iPod and Apple wont fix it for you. Jailbreaking is one of the safest mods out there. There is no such thing as bricking an iPhone or iPod touch, thanks to DFU mode.
  2. $40-60 million, THAT CRAZY TALK!

QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 01:28 PM) Pic Zune HD Zune HD looks really sweet, apparently the UI is >>>>>> than ipod touch. I also like the OLED screen, alot better for viewing videos. The price is also quite nice (for the 16gb). The only problem is that right now its more geared towards being an mp3 player than an all in one device that I am looking for. The internet browser apparently is nowhere near as good as the touch's and the apps dont compare. Can anybody give a brief overview of what jailbreaking is and the advantage of it? Advantages of jailbreaking. 1. 3rd party apps. 2. It allows piracy (of App Store applications) if you like to go that way. 3. Themes and cool things Apple doesn't let you do. 4. Emulation (SNES, NES, Genesis, GBA, etc). 5. Anything you can possibly think of. Disadvantages of jailbreaking. 1. Takes up a bit more memory, decreasing the overall performance of your iDevice, it depends on what you run. Themes take up nearly 11 MB of your RAM (at least that's what Winterboard takes up). 2. If you're not good with technology, it's not the best thing for you. If you want the full deal out of it, you need to really know how to tinker with your iDevice. If you're strictly looking for a music player with a nicer screen and all, buy the Zune HD, it looks really nice and it's got an OLED screen. But if you're expecting Microsoft to build an App Store with 85,000 apps, you might as well think about 5-10 years in the future for that. As of right now, if you're looking for your device to do be a "smart" device that plays games and is able to use cool applications, the iPod touch is definitely the way to go.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Oct 22, 2009 -> 09:23 AM) What does jailbreak mean? I have a touch and the only thing I don't like about it is I can't get online everywhere like you can with the iphone. I've never seen a Zune in person. It means you free the iPod or iPhone from software restrictions put on by Apple.
  5. Hahaha, this is must watch TV!
  6. QUOTE (G&T @ Oct 21, 2009 -> 09:14 AM) That's what Meg Griffin would look like if Family Guy weren't animated. You don't say...
  7. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Oct 20, 2009 -> 12:17 PM) Here's another one "Danks is not that much more valuable than Lopez. Sorry, he’s just not." Moron. What kind of Koolaid is this idiot drinking? Jose Lopez is a mediocre player. He had a decent year this past season because Wakamatsu batted him third, a horrible spot for a guy with an OPS near .770 and a wOBA of only .325. So he's a below average hitter and his UZR says he's a barely above average fielder. In the end, he's average and not as valuable as Danks, who posted a 2.9 WAR last year while Lopez posted a 2.6. Now, I must say, I really like Mark Lowe and I would like the prospect of getting him to be our setup man next year. However, I would definitely not do it at the expense of Danks. This trade would make a lot more sense if we handed them Jenks (for us at least).
  8. Maybe he'll get the actual award next month. Congrats Gordon.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 11:53 PM) They're going Kershaw, not Wolf? Kershaw is a hell of a lot better. Wolf had a career year.

QUOTE (joeynach @ Oct 14, 2009 -> 01:56 AM) No thanks on Hawpe for 7.5 id rather make a run at Nick Jonhson. If anyone from the rockies I think we need id make a run at Rafael Betancourt, hes a FA unless the rockies pick up a 5.4M option, probably wont happen. He could probably be signed for 2 years 5 mil. I do not want the human rain delay on this team. Ed Farmer might quit if we sign Betancourt.
  11. So right now, we're at 71 million without arbitration for Danks, Quentin, Jenks, and Carrasco. Hmmm. Jenks might as well be on his way out if our payroll is only going to be around $90 million for the year.

Hawpe would only make sense as a DH. He's actually one of those guys that is not a product of Coors Field. His home and away splits are strikingly similar.
  13. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 13, 2009 -> 01:25 PM) T.O. trade to Chicago rumor is apparently circulating per one of the fantasy message boards I visit. OMG OMG OMG
  14. I had swine flu, it's not all that different than the normal flu, you just feel like s*** more than you usually do with the normal flu.
  15. Hell of a game by the Dolphins. They made the Jets defense look bad on that last drive.
  16. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 10:22 PM) The way these playoffs are going, it seems like "Closer quality" is going to be a key factor. In other words...Mariano. Brad Lidge and Brian Fuentes survived when Papelbon, Franklin, Nathan, and Street didn't. It seems like some of the elite closers are getting canned when the bad ones aren't getting hit. Rivera and Broxton are the only exceptions.
  17. You know this guy's true abilities when he's not injured. I think it's worth it. His value is low right now, but it won't be so low come next year.
  18. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 12, 2009 -> 06:39 PM) Did Jason Marquis screw someone's wife? He wasn't one of Colorado's top 3 pitchers this year? Marquis wasn't very good to end the year I guess.
  19. I don't see anything special in Mat Gamel... Not special enough to give up Floyd anyways.
  20. Man, there's so many damn blown calls in these playoffs so far. What are these umpires looking at? Utley's infield single was clearly a foul ball to begin with.
  21. I honestly thought Ozzie was going to convince KW to sign him to an extension. Good times D-Wise, but Ozzie and KW made Sox fans hate you when you made some very important plays in these past two seasons.
  22. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 9, 2009 -> 11:04 PM) Liner misplayed by Ellsbury plates 2 more for Anaheim. Is it just me or does Jacoby make a lot of "Edmonds" like diving plays. He had one yesterday. Ellsbury is actually a below average fielder, even with that speed of his.
  23. Man, if the Angels can take this one, they might finally break their winless streak against Boston in the ALDS.
  24. The Twins finally had calls not go their way today, it was about time.
  25. In. I'm sick of going 22-0 in public leagues.
