2009 Cubs thread
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 04:12 PM) I thought he lost a hit in the sun? He did that too. And then he made a failure of an attempt to catch a bloop pop up by Cuddyer the same inning.

2009 Cubs thread
QUOTE (shipps @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 03:54 PM) What did Bradley do? He threw the ball into the stands and thought it was 3 outs when it was only 2. Twins didn't score an extra run because of it, but it was funny as hell.

What were the Cubs thinking giving this guy $10 million to play right field?

Bradley is a worse outfielder than he is a base runner. That was atrocious. I know it's hard to see with the sun in your eyes, but he wasn't even close on that fly ball Kubel hit.

GameThread: White Sox (28-33) v. Brewers (33-27) 7:05 WCIU
QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 11:13 AM) THIS IS A PREDICTION!!!!!!!!!!! 1. Pods, LF 2. Ramirez, SS 3. Dye, RF 4. Pierzynski, C 5. Beckham, 3B 6. Fields, 1B 7. Getz, 2B 8. Anderson, CF 9. Richard, P A.J. hitting 4th is a very scary thought.

QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Jun 12, 2009 -> 10:34 AM) Let's get another double "YES!" out of Hawk tonight! He does that on almost every home run that's hit.

Josh Fields questions future with White Sox
At least Josh didn't swing and miss too many times today. 3 walks ain't bad. Although the last one looked was kind of iffy and he almost struck out there. Got bailed out by two umpires.

White Sox Winnah
This is our first walk-off win of the year isn't it?

GameThread: Tigers (33-26) v. White Sox (27-33) 1:05 WGN
QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 06:37 PM) Should of let him catch it. BA would of tagged and scored That's what the smart fan would have done. No way he throws BA out after he goes into the stands. The kid with the Crede jersey was on the tarp. Too funny.

I was a little bit scared there for a minute. Bases loaded and nobody out and we still might get nothing. That a boy Scotty!

That ball to Granderson was right down the middle.

Santiago has Floyd's number I guess. Gavin made the no-no pitch to a left-handed batter. Lefties kill the fastball on the low inside corner.

JD should stop playing right field. Any average defensive outfielder could have made that play. Getz wasn't even supposed to be out there. That ball was in a mid-range fly ball.

Pablo Ozuna Suspended for PED's
He got them from Manny.

A.J. just swings at everything in sight. Meanwhile, Gavin's ERA is below 5 now. It was around 7.7 just 5 starts ago. How 'bout that?

QUOTE (BFirebird @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 03:04 PM) The one thing I don't see in Grady Sizemore comparison is the home runs. Grady has way more power than Danks2 probably will ever have. Grady wasn't a power machine early in his career. It's developed over the years. I see Danks hitting around 20 homers with full playing time if he is developed the right way. He doesn't have as much power as Sizemore, but I wouldn't say Sizemore has way more power.

QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 01:53 PM) You think you can handle another Double Header? Well they're 2-2 in double dips this year.

They really should call this game. I can't stand any more bad offensive baseball. Get these guys on the road again and see what they can do.

6/10 Kitties vs. Sox @ 7:11
QUOTE (tommy @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:33 PM) Paulie has been playing with a loose ligament in his thumb for a while. Fields will be at 1st for tomorrow. It still hasn't healed from last year?

6/10 Kitties vs. Sox @ 7:11
QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 10, 2009 -> 09:28 PM) Only if you assume Inge doesn't hit into a double play really. I'm more upset that the 3-2 to Raeburn crossed the plate. Oh, and with Beckham being safe at 2nd, he scores on Getz's single. I don't know if you can assume that. But yeah, the umpiring in this series hasn't been the best.

Good to see Danks come back to form. That walk to Raburn was bulls***. Once again, our crappy situational hitting comes back to bite us. What else is new?
