I agree. Vaughn really should not play RF, ever.

Altuve looks like he got the yips again at 2B on that throw to 1st.

The good thing with Yaz is that his exit velos have gotten better as of late. The result aren't there, but at least he's hitting the ball like a major leaguer again.

He needs to rework the slider this off-season. He needs to throw it more like Cease's. If he's gonna throw it the way he's throwing it now, it needs to be a faster pitch (88-89 instead of 85-86). Cause right now, the movement on the pitch is more akin to a cutter and mid 80s cutters are not very good pitches.

Dusty is running out of options for the 8th inning. I guess Stanek would get the shot today since Montero and Neris both blew their appearances.

Not a good slider. Mancini just missed hitting that one out.

It's more of an issue with how the Sox have way too many 1B types. They need to get more left handed and plug the holes at 2B and RF.

Jose just sucks against Valdez.

Yeah, if Valdez gets that pitch all night, we're screwed.

Has anyone noticed that Pollock has hit to the opposite field a lot more since moving to the leadoff spot?

This win streak reminds me of the 6 gamer we had in early May. Lots of close wins. The offense wasn't hitting, but the bullpen and pitching was solid and won them a lot of those games. What was funny was that when they finally did score a bunch of runs, the bullpen blew a 6 run lead.

His fastball looked good after all the balls to Altuve. Lots of late life. The pitch Yordan hit was right down the middle and he still couldn't hit it out.

Alvarez just missed that. Unfortunately, if we paid attention to Altuve, that's not a run.

That was catchable. Kopech could have made a better throw, but Romy's gotta catch that.

Kopech's just not paying attention to Altuve.

Not a good start for Romy.

The arm side run on that fastball was crazy.

I'm beginning to think Kopech couldn't throw a strike to Altuve cause his strike zone is too small.

Kopech with no control to start the game. Great.

2022 AL Central catch all thread
That was when the rule first got put in and they were calling catchers for blocking the plate when the base runner was half way down the line. Which made absolutely zero sense.

Old Sock Drawer, ex Sox player discussion
His stats looked way too good to be true in June when you took a look at his expected stats and exit velos. It eventually catches up with you. I'm sure Danny Mendick would have suffered a similar fate had he stayed healthy. Both of their batting averages were highly inflated and neither hit the ball very hard.

So the Twins and Guardians have both gotten screwed by the blocking the plate rule. When's it gonna happen to us?

I knew TA was kinda getting full of himself, but was it really that bad?
