  1. He coached under Maddon, Cora, and Bochy. Pretty impressive resume. Did we actually make a good hire for once?
  2. Good, cause we've all known his weakness as a coach this entire time. He gets to hide behind his defense being good, but that's where most of our cap space is allocated. It better be good. My issue with Eberflus has always been that it seemed like the players don't really respect him. His coaching style doesn't command respect and the Tyrique Stevenson thing was the straw that broke the camel's back for a lot of people.
  3. Sweat was hurt.
  4. Stevenson is nowhere near good enough to be getting away with any of the s%*# he usually pulls. His dumbass taunting penalty led to a field goal. Nevermind he's a big reason why we're all pissed off right now for tipping that pass right to Brown.
  5. That's gotta be the most heartbreaking loss since the double doink. There's a video of Stevenson going around taunting the crowd on the last play and he wasn't even paying attention to the play when the ball got snapped. He was the one who tipped the pass on the last play. You have to bench him for that and make an example out of it. It's unacceptable. There's been so many times where I've felt Eberflus isn't even running the team. There's almost no consequence for doing dumb s%*# like that.
  6. Ohtani might have hurt his arm.
  7. That trade the Dodgers made with the Sox and Cardinals really paid dividends for them.
  8. The Yankees better be ready to back up the Brinks truck for Soto.
  9. Of course it's Rocchio up to possibly make up for his error.
  10. I don't think I've ever seen a reliever throw this many change ups. At some point, you gotta throw something else right? Just to, you know, change up from it? lol
  11. Kahnle might be proof that Drew Thorpe could be at least be a good reliever one day.
  12. Clase does it again
  13. Clay Holmes trying to blow it again.
  14. While Hill wasn't good on the Sox he also got BABIP'd to death while maintaining decent peripherals. He also wasn't even the worst guy in the Sox bullpen when he got DFA'd. Him going to the Yankees and being good really isn't that surprising.
  15. Offense is down across the league. If you want to use your favorite stat to measure that, the league average BA was just .243, down 5 points from last year. It just so happens the Yankees have 2 guys in Soto and Judge who are so good by themselves that they don't need a bunch of great hitters around them for the Yankees to score.
  16. I don't really see a MLB team taking off in Austin. Everyone here is either an Astros or Rangers fan. Or they just moved here from somewhere else recently and don't have a huge attachment to Austin. It's one thing for Austin FC to sell out a 20k capacity stadium playing once a week. It's another to expect people to change fan affiliation and get 30,000+ fans every night during the summer. Plus you have to build an indoor stadium because nobody is braving the 100+ degree heat to go watch baseball. Just see what happened with the BallPark at Arlington.
  17. I think the Yankees might actually have been better off not hitting those homers in the 8th. That's a huge momentum shift for the Guardians.
  18. Ohtani finally got a hit with nobody in scoring position.
  19. I also hate them for blowing a 3-1 lead to the Cubs.
  20. That's a series changing type of home run.
  21. The whole Cleveland bullpen was more or less unhittable in the regular season. Regression to the mean sucks. Clase especially. He had a 0.6 ERA in the regular season, but has blown 2 games in the playoffs.
  22. I had to Google if Dave Stewart had any substantial money. Turns out he doesn't.
  23. It's the only blip these past 2 weeks. It's the complete opposite of last year, where we'd look really good on scripted plays, but fall apart afterwards. It's weird because I remember seeing that Waldron scripted some good plays last year to open games. You saw Caleb start going up-tempo that 3rd drive and that's when things changed. Maybe they need to start games that way.
