  1. What a come back. The Clippers committed some dumbass fouls at the end of regulation. Patrick Williams came up huge in OT. DeMar was amazing. This win probably makes sure the Bulls don't play in the play-in tournament. Cleveland is now 3 games back with 5 to play. Win 2 of the last 5 and we're in.
  2. I'm pretty sure Ron claimed Jose was washed up when he won MVP.
  3. Looking really good against Greene.
  4. I like how Hahn took a lot of the heat off La Russa by having a terrible off-season and TLR had to say some shit to disparage fans to remind us that he's still here.
  5. Yeah, but you don't have a law degree from Harvard so what the hell do you know?
  6. If his stuff and control still look like crap, there's no point. Having him close doesn't automatically make him better. One of his best outings last year with the Sox was in the 8th inning against Cleveland. In the few chances he did get to close, he wasn't dramatically better.
  7. The Sox rarely won games last year when they were behind once the other team's starter left the game. The Sox had a 28 point drop-off in wRC+ between innings 1-6 and innings 7-9 (+extras). They were 3rd in wRC+ in the first 6 innings and 15th in wRC+ in the last 3 innings. The Mariners were simply lucky last year. They didn't hit any better in the late innings. Their bullpen wasn't really any better than ours. When they won, they won by very little. But when they lost, they lost by a lot. Which kind of explains their run differential.
  8. Ugh, now we gotta hope he fixes himself. I was hoping he'd be someone else's problem.
  9. This feels like Nick Williams part 2. Both he and Williams were actually decent at one point, but kind of fell off for some reason. What's interesting is that Haseley used to be fast and a good defender (70% sprint speed) but has since fallen off big time (47% sprint speed the last 2 years). I'm not sure what happened to his speed.
  10. Learning from the rest of the team, I see.
  11. September/October Eloy was flat out bad. Good to see him turn it around so far.
  12. Outside of bad positioning, RF defense is probably what caused us to lose game 2 of the ALDS. Leury taking 20 turns on Correa's line drive double was definitely not what a capable defensive RFer would do.
  13. Maybe don't question people's fandom just because they want the team to improve. That felt unnecessary.
  14. To be fair, those guys were terrible in RF. I'm pretty sure they combined for a .620 OPS. The team OPS was .671 in RF. Vaughn, if he can stick in RF and stay healthy, would be a huge upgrade there provided he puts up his projected wRC+ of around 110. But seeing how he was absolutely awful in RF last year and just hurt himself playing defense out there, I wouldn't really count on him to be a huge positive there unless he breaks out offensively. What's interesting is that Vaughn's struggles last year due to his back problems started when he dove for a ball in RF against the Yankees in mid August. I think he hit something like .127 the rest of the way after that. If he's going to constantly hurt himself in RF, it's going to jeopardize his offensive development as well.
  15. Just like how that same group handled it last year?
  16. I know Will Smith was trying to defend his wife...but that joke probably went over a lot of people's heads. It's a reference to a movie 25 years ago. Had he done nothing, I bet nobody would have said anything about it. Maybe an obscure article here or there. But because of his slap, everybody knows about Jada's alopecia, everybody knows that she slept with her son's friend, and he basically put a microscope on himself and his family.
  17. lol they'll learn nothing and he will play RF again.
  18. I'm surprised it took the Cardinals this long to sign him.
  19. Yeah I understood why he was pissed, but he literally was laughing at the joke. He went from laughing to pissed off enough to go slap Chris Rock in about 5 seconds. You can see Jada rolling her eyes at the joke, so it could be that Will Smith saw she got pissed and he overreacted.
  20. I actually think Vaughn has decent instincts in the OF, given he's probably never played there outside of little league or maybe high school. He just lacks any sort of speed to play out there.
  21. I couldn't believe it. My audio got cut so I didn't get to hear the exchange, but it sure sounded pretty real to me when I saw it on Twitter. If it wasn't, that's some good acting lol.
  22. There's a functionality called follow on Twitter
  23. That's been the White Sox strategy forever lol
  24. 3-0 with an hour left. The play this game has been incredible. We're basically in.
