Of course Mondesi comes back just in time to face us. He just hit a homer against Cleveland.

Before July 1st, he hit .462 with a runner on 3rd in 17 chances. After he's hit .222 in 10 chances. 8 of those were with 1 out and he's hitless in those situations with 1 walk. I know it's a very small sample, but his early season numbers are clearly making up for his struggles recently in those situations.

It's a lot easier to hit a fly ball when the pitcher doesn't care if you hit one. You definitely get pitched differently.

I know what the numbers are. He did most of his damage early in the year. Recently, it's been like watching nails on a chalkboard in those situations with him.

Think that's when he's trying to dot corners. He can still get it up to 95. It's not ideal, but hopefully he can still reach back and get more if he needs it.
