  1. Does anyone know of a good program to use that will help plan out meals? I'm trying to follow the 1.5g protein per lb for strength training, but I have a real hard time finding semi easy to make meals/snacks ahead of time. I've found quite a few places online that will give you like a weeks worth of meal plans, and the shopping list to go with it, but nothing that you can actually tailor to what i'm looking for. They seem just to be weight loss or family meal plans. I guess the short of this is I suck at planning, and am looking for a way to help me improve my weekly meal planning to make sure i'm getting enough protein in my diet. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
  2. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Oct 11, 2012 -> 01:29 PM) He's just too good to keep hating on, it's not like he's murdered someone. Lucky Heat "fans"...and if he's finally figured it out;, may the basketball gods have mercy on the rest of us. What is this nonsense? I can only dislike someone if they are a murderer (I understand the exaggeration)? I do believe the guy is the greatest player in the game right now. However, a lot of stories i've read about the guy paint him as a total dbag. I personally think he is a dbag. Just because he finally started to play up to his bball potential doesn't mean I stopped thinking he was a douche. I will continue to dislike him because of this. It's the same thing with KG. The guy is passionate, and very very good. He also has a ring. He is still a dick, and I dislike him because of it. That being said, I can still respect how good he is, and if he was a Bull, I wouldn't stop being a Bulls fan. But it annoys me when people say he finally won, you can't hate on the guy anymore.
  3. QUOTE (IowanSoxFan @ Oct 5, 2012 -> 07:39 PM) Does anyone else have a problem with the Wild Card only being one game? I mean you play 162 games and your reward is a single game to decide your fate. I feel that it should be a three-game series. No, if you want a full series, win the division.
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 3, 2012 -> 01:44 PM) Because I think peoples perceptions change when it's someone they relate to. It seems extreme because he's just some dumb drunk college kid that did something stupid, which we all did when we were that age. But that act is despicable, especially to do to a stranger. If it was some homeless dude doing it to someone on the train I don't think anyone would bat an eye. Why do people keep saying he's some "college kid"? Dude is 33 years old. He's a grown ass man. This isn't a case of some drunk 20 year old kid making a bad drunk choice. This is, again, a grown ass man. And if he's doing this at 33, he's probably a pretty big dbag in real life. Not that being a dbag should get you thrown in jail for 2 years, but he's probably had it coming. And it's a 2 year sentence, they said he'll probably be released in 9 months.
  5. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 03:46 PM) You know, I feel bad for the teabagger. I get that what he did was wrong, but damn, 2 years in prison!? That's rough. I thought the exact same thing, but then I though if he did this to some random guy he doesn't even know, he's probably a pretty big POS to begin with.
  6. Ok, great bears win. Why are the starters still in this?
  7. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 04:56 PM) How much money is David Wright probably gonna get?? Would the savings from Peavy and Youk give them the $$$?? If i'm not mistaken, didn't the Red Sox pay most of Youk's salary? So not much is coming off the books there. I wouldn't be as concerned about the $$$ as I would the years... Would the Sox be willing to sign him to the length of contract he'd want? They don't seem to like those long contracts. It sure would be nice though.
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 1, 2012 -> 02:53 PM) I try to use facts as well. Fact: Our pitchers couldn't go more than five innings for the final couple weeks of the season. Fact: Buehrle could have done so. Fact: Buehrle could have mentored our young pitchers who desperately needed help late. The fact is the Sox couldn't afford to pay another guy cause of all that money going to Rios and Dunn and Peavy. Too bad. Cause I will always believe we are in the playoffs if mark is on our team! I think the much hyped Coop did a s***ty job the last month mentoring this staff. s***ty. And bad use of pitchers as well. no, here's a fact; September is Buehrle's worst month throughout his career. It's the month with his highest ERA and WHIP. http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/...t=p#month_extra How was he going to help this team win by posting a 4.22 ERA when we can't score runs? It's not like the guy was lights out. Maybe if we got Crede, Rowand, and Dye back too we could 2005 our way back to the playoffs?
  9. I'm absolutely disgusted in this team. 2 weeks left in the season they're 3 games up... Fast Forward a week and here we are 1 game back. This is so damn frustrating.
  10. Wow, that was completely predictable... How the F do you not PH for him...
  11. How do you not PH for youk? He they won't throw balls to him, he can't hit right now.
  12. QUOTE (2nd_city_saint787 @ Sep 22, 2012 -> 12:42 PM) Alright so this questions coming completely from left field but I'm looking for a little help. Is there anyone here that lives in the Western Suburbs of Chicago, namely near the Medinah Country Club that can help a fellow soxtalker out? For anyone who has read the job hunt forum you will know that I may be working security for the Ryder Cup...welllll the problem with that is I live 49 miles away and with the long hours I'm sure to have there its just not possible for me to go back and forth everyday. Sooooo I was wondering if any kind person in that area would take me into their home for those 5 days, I'll even sleep in my car if I have to, I just need to use your bathroom to freshen up. When looking at the even schedule for the Cup it looks like I'd be working 12+ hour days so I wont be around that much those 5 days. I can offer you $100 for the week but thats about it, Id be very grateful if you allowed me to do this for free!! Please shoot me a PM if you can help me out! Have you checked into; http://www.couchsurfing.org/ I don't know much about it, but it may be able to help you. I believe it's free.
  13. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Sep 20, 2012 -> 10:22 AM) Bwhahahahah I'm not worried. The SOX will take care of business tonight. They just came out flat. Hopefully RV lights a fire under their asses and remind them that they are in a bloody pennant race. BTW, I think Youk and Rios should trade spots. Youk has been K 'ing' too much for the two hole lately. I hope this is a joke that I'm missing... They just came out flat? RV needs to light a fire? You're up 3, with 2 weeks of baseball left to play. The Tigers are a good team, and will pass you if you "come out flat". If that's not enough to light a fire under their damn asses, then that's sad. I'm usually not one to get too upset over 1 game, but come on. KC tried to give us that game, and they refused to take it. They damn well better not come out flat now.
  14. I'm looking for some advice here. I have some friends interested in doing the Miami Marathon, or at least the 1/2. Being in Chicago, this would make training difficult, as the marathon is in January I believe. Has anyone trained for a marathon in the winter? If so, how have you done it? Indoors? Bundled up outside? And if you have done it, what was your experience like? I can't see running the distances it would take to train on a treadmill.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2012 -> 02:50 PM) Laurence Holmes ‎#Whitesox offering $7 upper deck tix/$17 lower deck for next homestand including #tigers. whitesox.com/soxsave #nomoreexcuses This really irritates me. I bought tickets to the Detroit series, and 2 weeks before the series starts, tickets are discounted even further? Why would I as a Sox fan want to buy tickets in advance these days?
  16. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 14, 2012 -> 11:19 AM) Right around there. And Russ we used some reality website(can't remember what it was) but not craigslist. 2 great sites for this (they're kind of the same thing); padmapper livelovely They pretty much put craigslist to a map, which is useful.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 11:13 AM) Hinrich can play the 2 with Derrick on the floor, and CJ and Rose played on the same floor at times. If Teague turns out to be good they could play sets with him on the floor. I agree that they can run these sets, but I don't think that makes you a better team. To me, having a backup PG fill the SG role is not ideal, and is not going to put the bulls over the hump. Hinrich is a declining PG, who can still shoot the 3, but is not good at creating his own shot, and doesn't bring much except an additional ball handler. To be honest, if you could take away injury concerns, I'd rather have Rip playing the 2 rather than Hinrich, so I don't see this as an upgrade at the 2 at all. Teague may turn out to be an excellent player, and maybe he can become what the bulls need. He will be an undersized SG for sure. There is also a reason he was drafted so low. Him developing into the player the Bulls need is a long shot. It happens, but it's no way a guarantee. I also understand that there are not many if any playmakers available, or starting SG's. But I would not say that any of their moves this off season are any different than previous years. I don't see signing backup PG's as something to be excited about or show me they are moving in a "new" direction.
  18. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 13, 2012 -> 11:02 AM) For the third time, I'm excited that we're targetting players that know how to dribble drive, are athletic and can handle the ball And they're all backup PG's. They drafted a backup PG, signed a backup PG, and are looking at bringing in a Euro backup PG. None of these moves improve the team with Derrick on the floor.
  19. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 03:58 PM) It's not happening so might as well not even waste a thought on it. Bulls know they have to stay conservative, they're of the mindset that I share, which is that this is a championship contending core that only needs health and a run of good luck to contend. They know they need to make some changes but they're in no rush to do it, and certainly aren't going to make panic moves. Do the Bulls live in a vacuum and we're not aware of it? When you say they need "health and a run of good luck" to "contend" that's saying a LOT. This team has not shown any ability to stay healthy, and what is the good luck? LBJ and Wade getting hurt? The Bulls are not adding any impact players, their competition is. The Bulls players may be getting a year more experience, but so is everyone else in the NBA. There is nothing the Bulls have done that puts them in front of the Heat, or the Lakers, or the Thunder. They are staying at the same level or getting worse (losing Asik, Rip's a year older, etc.) If the Bulls keep this same team, they won't win anything without some serious "luck" as you stated. They might as well try to go after Howard, hope he resigns, and then they can rely on talent, instead of "luck", to win a championship.
  20. From what I've read, he's being offered around $7 M a season, where (if I understand correctly) the MLE is ~$5 M. That's a large gap, and I can see why he wouldn't sign, but I don't understand why I haven't seen anything about the Bulls contacting him. They were willing to trade for him in the past, couldn't they offer up a sign and trade? I get the owner of the Grizzlies hates the Bulls, but is he stupid enough to not even consider this? I'm a fan of Mayo from college, so I want to see him here, maybe this is just my dumb ass idea to get him here, and overrating him.
  21. I haven't seen any talk of the Bulls going after OJ Mayo. I wonder why, unless I'm missing something. If I remember correctly, the Bulls tried to trade for him not too long ago, but the owner shot it down. Now that he's a UFA, they could at least offer the MLE, instead of going after Hinrich. It's not the superstar the Bulls need, but maybe he'll blossom after being put back in a starter's role... can't be worse than running Rip out there.
  22. I don't really view Allen as an upgrade to any team he goes to at this point. He was awful last post season, and at 36, his ankles aren't likely to hold out for another full season. Maybe he fully heals and comes back healthy, but I'd be willing to bet he'll have another performance like we just saw.
  23. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 1, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) What the...do you even watch the Bulls? Asik helps us because he protects the rim and shuts down driving lanes. Of course he helps us against Miami. Wade and Lebron are not gonna have such an easy time driving on Asik, are they? Theyre gonna have to change the trajectory on all their shots when he's there, aren't they? I don't understand your obsession with a backup C. We have a pretty good starting C already, and are in desperate need of a playmaking SG. Wasting that kind of money on a backup C is not a luxury the Bulls can afford.
  24. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jun 30, 2012 -> 12:07 PM) http://espn.go.com/nba/truehoop/miamiheat/...guard-ray-allen Isn't that tampering? I believe it's only tampering if management is doing the recruiting. It's the same thing that got the Heat together in the first place. Wade did the recruiting, but as long as Riley or other front office people weren't involved, it's all ok.
