Holy s*** the Vikings gave up a LOT for the 29th pick.
-
The Bears pick is so disappointing. There were so many better players left on the board.
-
Lol... Oh man, the past 2 bears drafts they overdraft... Why do they pick projects in the 1st round? This guy would have been there in the 2nd more than likely.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 01:52 PM) Too small to be a MLB is like saying Rickey Henderson was too fast to steal bases. He's the PERFECT size to be a MLB. You know how I know? The best MLB of our time - even considering he was overrated in his later years - is Ray Lewis. He was listed 6'0'', 240 lbs. Manti Te'o, who you say is "too small," is listed at 6'1 (1/4),'' 241 lbs. BUT TOO SMALL He seems like a pretty diverse player who is quick and strong enough. He doesn't seem like a superstar, but I think he'll be fine in whatever scheme he ends up in. So because Ray Lewis is a great LB, that means Te'o is the perfect size? By that logic, Drew Brees is one of the best QB's of all time, so everyone should draft sub 6 foot QB's. All I can find for combine results for Ray Lewis are his bench, 40, and vertical, but all of those point to being much more athletic than Te'o as well. I'm not saying the guy sucks, but I don't think he's worth drafting in the 1st round. He'll probably be an average LB, I don't see difference maker or play maker when I see him. If you want to use a 1st round pick on an "average" NFL player, that's fine, but I think you could find that in the 3rd.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Apr 25, 2013 -> 12:33 PM) Because he's from Notre Dame and hating Notre Dame is way more important than, you know, football reasons and stuff. Your World vs Notre Dame crap is ridiculous. How about because he's too small for MLB, too slow for the cover 2 scheme, and without the name attached he wouldn't be a first round talent.

I used bikesdirect.com to get my bike. It tends to be cheaper as far as the parts go, but you run some risks. You need to know your size before you buy, and you have to assume it is correct on the website. You also have to assemble it yourself. I bought one, assembled it myself, and then brought it to a shop for a tuneup to make sure everything was done correctly. It probably saved a few hundred.

QUOTE (Brian @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 06:20 PM) When are people going to start calling Noah a girl? Probably when he no longer has plantar fasciitis, but still refuses to play because his worthless brother makes his decisions for him.

Official 2013-2014 NCAA Football Thread

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 09:30 AM) Auburn paid players, changed grades etc. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/...ccording-report The NCAA is really turning into a joke. They investigate Cam Newton, find nothing, and then all this comes out, which happened at the same time as the Cam Newton stuff... Amazing. -
How does this insurance actually work? I would assume it wouldn't cover any time after he was actually cleared by doctors to play.

I don't know which station you're using, but there are bars in Union that aren't too expensive. I doubt you'll find anything outside of a train station where you can hang out for $5.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 22, 2013 -> 11:21 PM) UNM BB beat writer can't take it anymore after 33 years, gives up. Dennis Latta thought this team had accomplished something by winning the Mountain West Conference during the regular season and in the tournament. A win over UNLV on its home floor was impressive. Beating San Diego State and Colorado State and Boise State was the sign of success because the conference and these teams were so good. This is where I get lost. Is this sarcasm?

I bought the HTC EVO when it first came out. I had some many problems with that phone that I don't think I'd ever buy another HTC phone again. I had to exchange the phone 3 times, and bring it in to Sprint's repair shop so many more times than that. I'm looking at the S4, but I don't really have a reason besides the fact that I like the S3 from the short time I've used someone elses.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 01:43 PM) Chicago radio shuffle: Cowherd show to air in morning on ESPN 1000; Waddle-Silvy to afternoons I think they meant 10-2, not 10-1. Or, 1-6, not 2-6. I believe they are right. 1-2 is already SVP. So they're cutting Carmen and Jurko down, is that a sign they're half way out the door already? And weekdays between 9-10 is now a choice between Mac and Cowherd? That's a rough choice. I have to admit, I don't normally listen to Cowherd, but I hear the short segments they play on the internet during commercials for Waddle and Silvy, and I think it is some of the dumbest radio I've heard.

QUOTE (buhbuhburrrrlz @ Mar 8, 2013 -> 12:10 PM) Sunday would be a good day for TEH RETURN! ABC afternoon game, and Bulls won't play again til Wednesday. ONE TIME! I don't agree. Doesn't Dwight usually knock Rose around when they play each other?
-
http://espn.go.com/chicago/nba/story/_/id/...oot-source-says So it's all in his head now. He is at no more of a risk of re injuring that ACL than anyone else blowing out theirs. He needs to get out there and play. Waiting until next year to return is just delaying the mental portion of the rehab process.

QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 3, 2013 -> 07:20 PM) Derrick rose on the bench. And this tweet makes me real happy @McGrawDHBulls: Heard through the grapevine Derrick's personal choice was to stay off bench until he was ready to play, so this appearance is interesting. Time to get tickets for Friday? Thibs has said in the past that Rose will not be on the bench until he is close to playing... So this is probably a very good sign.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 1, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) Total bulls***. You can tell in the first second of a call if Bernstein will even allow any sort of discussion. I agree with this 100%. The tone in Dan's voice when he answers will tell you immediately how he's going to react. It's not all the time, but pretty close to it. I understand that they can see what the caller wants to discuss before taking the call. If you're taking calls just to s*** on someone, don't take the call. It's their schtick and I get that, but I think it gets old fast.

I was one of the people that use to listen to B&B religiously, but I honestly don't understand how they are still doing so well. To me, they use to be very intelligent and give a lot of sports knowledge. It seemed like every once in a while they'd insult a dumb caller. Now it seems like that's their thing. If someone calls in and doesn't echo their opinion, they just turn to insulting the caller. The caller could have a great thought, but it doesn't fall in line with the host, so they just attack. Yet if they have a guest with these same "dumb" thoughts, they usually don't say a thing. Their Who You Crappin and Friday Fun, and what else are entertaining, but I stopped listening to them for actual sports talk. I have to assume a lot of their listeners just like hearing people be attacked. I know a buddy who loves B&B listens because of that. I've turned to CJH because they seem to be the opposite of the above. They might not have as much sports knowledge, but I don't have to listen to them rip callers constantly. i agree with those of you that said Holmes would be good on ESPN. I think he is what I use to like in B&B. Him and Carmen would be good.

I'm looking for some suggestions on 32" TV's. I'm looking to put something in my bed room. I currently have a 19" old school tube tv in there, and figured i should upgrade. I was looking at this; http://www.amazon.com/VIZIO-E320i-A0-32-in...ywords=vizio+32 I figured it had internet apps so I wouldn't need a seperate dvd player or anything like that. However, it's Vizio and I've heard mixed reviews. Anyone have any recommendations?

It's after lunch, I guess I should pay more attention or just take a nap.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Feb 21, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) Would you trade for Rip? I wouldnt. To get under the cap? I would. Now they will do everything they can to not be in the luxury tax again next year. I believe every year you are in the tax, it gets more and more expensive... So this just hurts them going forward.

QUOTE (Jake @ Feb 18, 2013 -> 05:27 PM) My parents saved about $250 on an AV receiver using the price match. No idea if Best Buy made any money on that purchase. We've bought from them whenever they have a decent price for a while now. On major electronics like TVs, nobody can have sales anymore so we choose them to keep them afloat. What do you mean no one can have sales anymore? And it's a good try by Best Buy. You can still save a pretty nice chunk from Amazon by avoiding the sales tax. (Yes, I know, technically you are suppose to report that).

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Feb 14, 2013 -> 11:40 PM) Just give the Heat the title already. Let's focus on the offseason - semi serious. I hear that Boozer + Robinson for Bargnani + JLIII is still on the table. Trading Boozer for Bargnani makes no basketball sense... If they make that trade it's pure money. You can amnesty Boozer and clear room, but obviously that cost a lot of money. As soon as you trade him, you're stuck with Bargnani, and 0 cap room to make this team better.

I was excited for the Heat Thunder game... it was over in the 1st quarter. That's got to be the worst possible outcome for the Thunder. I know it's just the regular season, but to get swept and then completely blown out at home... how can you go into the Finals with any confidence (if you get there, of course).

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Feb 13, 2013 -> 04:07 PM) I think you are missing the argument. Its about Thibs overplaying players who are injured. Deng had a torn tendon, that is an injury, yet Deng played top 5 minutes in the entire NBA. That just does not compute. And Rose was never 100% last year. Thats why he got injured, because he WASNT HEALTHY. That is why (imo) his camp is not rushing him back, last year Rose "manned up" and tore his acl. Deng tore a tendon in his wrist. It wasn't going to get better with rest, and it wasn't going to get worse by playing through it. It shouldn't impact his minutes. And wasn't there a huge discussion on here last year that his ACL tear was not a result of him playing injured? I agree that Thibs probably plays his players too much though.
