  1. Only problem with getting rid of Paul is that when Sandy Alomar inevitably falls apart on April 5th, we'll be stuck with only 1 catcher even remotely ready to handle major league pitching.
  2. Uh, considering many thought we'd at least give up one of our blue chip prospects to nab Colon, I'm pretty glad that we were able to get him for no one that's not pretty replaceable. Worrying about the loss of Biddle while we get Colon is ridiculous.
  3. Most people agree that Cashman was the guy behind the the deal, not Williams.
  4. Whoa whoa whoa... Let's not get ahead of ourselves. The fact remains that 2 years ago, he took a team that was coming off a 95 win season with an average age of 27.5 and turned it into a .500 ballclub in 2 years; and despite the fact that today he did add Colon (a great move, IMO), there are still holes and question marks surrounding this team. I won't criticize KW, for now, but I certainly won't forget previous blunders (Clayton, Alomar, Alomar (again), Ritchie, etc.) We're not the 2003 World Champs yet. Let's worry about beating Minnesota first, guys.
  5. More than likely, this deal landed in Kenny's lap, and Brian Cashman was prepared to do anything to keep Colon away from Boston.
  6. Well, for argument's sake, the Yankees probably had no problem being fleeced as long as they kept Bartolo away from Boston. Hey, whatever... Colon is here and that's enough!
  7. This is the best crow I've ever tasted.
  8. OK, here's what ESPN-1000 radio has said... It is 100%, complete... Sox get Colon, give Osuna and Delvis Lantigua to New York and Rocky Biddle, Jeff Liefer, and Orlando Hernandez (from the Yankees.. duh). Sox also recieve minor league infielder from Montreal, Jorge Nunez. HELL YEAH! GOOD f***ING MOVE, KENNY!
  9. Not sure yet. It's the Score... They're wasting time now letting idiots call in about how Willie Harris should start at 2nd base now.
  10. Could it be true? Right now the deal has us sending a prospect pitcher & Jeff Liefer to Montreal and bullpen help to the Yankees. EDIT: Oops, I can't spell
  11. Whether or not this deal is s***ty or decent depends on whether or not we can sign Colon to a long term deal, IMO.... If we even get him.

    What if...

Evans sucks, too, and had the Sox hired him, we'd all be b****ing and moaning about the job he's done and we'd be wondering what could have been had we hired Williams, the "genius" behind the great minor league system we had a few years ago. White Sox Baseball: It's a Lose/Lose Situation.
  13. Let's not forget Anthony Thomas, Curtis Enis, and some of those s***ty tight ends we've had over the last few years.
  14. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news/ap/200301...rs-stewart.html Can't be any worse than anyone we have now, could he?
  15. No, I think there's too much fat on his face so his facial muscles aren't strong enough to lift them to smile.
  16. well I wouldn't say 8 homer's is a lot. Also love the sig, great quote. Well, 8 homers over how many games they played is kind of a lot, but that's not my point. Valentin was so productive in 2000 because he was just slapping the ball around; but for the last two years, he's struggled because he keeps swining for the fences. Ray Durham disease? Oh yeah... I love that quote... I got it from the book, The Simpsons and Philosophy. Even if you're not much into philsophical debate; its a wonderful read for Simspons fans... Gives you so much to think about and watch for. Supposedly there's another one floating out there, The Simspons and Religion, but I have yet to see it. And speaking of sigs... Chris Cornell =
  17. Nah... Liefer just figured out that he really sucks.
  18. When the hell is Valentin going to realize that he's not a power hitter?
  19. and it's not just because your article is featured on it right? Shuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuup.
  20. Well, we'll see. I needed a sixth projected starter, and Ritchie, IMO, is the most likely to be pitching here on the South Side. Its much more likely, IMO, that Todd will be here instead of a Valdes, Colon, or Vazquez.
  21. ... to say the new SoxNet.net main page looks great. Much more user-friendly and better looking. I like it.
  22. It's going to be too cold for the Bucs to win... Eagles 23, Bucs 9
  23. Are they? I thought that the new labor agreement nixed that. I'm probably mistaken, but I heard that they were at least throwing that idea around, and the owners got pretty much everything they wanted on this deal. :fyou
  24. You guys can sell s***ty candy bars in streets at red lights!
