Who knows? So many little minute things can go wrong that could have caused this catastrophe. I think we've all gotten so used to seeing space shuttles go up and then return safely that we don't really comprehend how precise they have to be. I think its best to not speculate much now, because until NASA or whoever finish their investigation, this is all just talk. I wouldn't be surprisd if what caused the explosion had absoletuly nothing to do with the tiles and the debris that hit the Columbia during liftoff. I also wouldn't be surprised if what has been speculated was the actual reason. Who knows?

I agree. I'm not saying they won't win anything, but a lot of things have to go our way. As of now, I'm thinking above .500. Anything after that will be a pleasant surprise.

I remember them saying something about tire pressure rising just before the explosion, which would mean that it was getting hotter inside, which points to a missing tile. The Tribune ran a story on the influx in temperature just prior to the explosion yesterday, I think (days kind of blend together for me sometimes).
