I'd wager that many people were saying that about another Cub pitcher back in 1997 or 1998 (Kerry Wood), and had he not gotten injured, I believe they'd be right. So basically, to say that any young pitcher will be the best one day is expecting a bit much. Anything can happen, and a career-ending injury is just a line drive away these days, unfortunately. I'll take MB over MP If Prior doesn't get hurt, like Wood did, he'll be the best pitcher in baseball for a while.

Living and playing in the most corrupt city in the country probably had more to do with the alledged throwing of the series more than Comiskey's cheapskatedness. And for the record, they were never actually convicted of the crime. Landis just banned them, anyway. Only one guy ever admitted to throwing the series (Cicotte) and the 8 guys didn't even get their full share of the deal anyway.

And yes, that flag does represent specific political views; namely, republicanism and capitalism. Ray had sparks out unbelievable defense. Remember, in the Home Opener against the Angels in 2000 that over the shoulder, diving grab he made about, what was it? 40 feet?, on the right field grass? That was unbelievable. Still probably the best defensive catch I've ever seen.

I don't know about any of you, but we only have two proven pitchers. Garland and Wright could just as easily have a melt down. Why does everyone just assume they're going to win 15 games a piece? I could just as easily see them both going a combined 10-30. The Twins are the favorites, hands down.
