QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) Huh? Briggs has been his normal studly self. The dude is an absolute rock. If I were the Bears, I would think long and hard about trading Forte (if you could get a 1st and a 2nd) and Briggs (for a 2nd). Than I'd use the money they supposedly have to sign two of Mario Williams, a top wide-out, and a LB (or LT or CB). You'd also have the ability to add some draft picks in (plus the Greg Olsen pick) and as a result of those picks (hopefully some talented youth). I'm sure some would disagree with me on Forte but I really have no problem with Bell (to my eye, he looks really good, outside of the fact he needs to learn how to hold the football) and I'm okay with Barber backing him up (plus a draft pick or something). I would go for it (trading Forte, Briggs for draft picks) if our GM was Ted Thompson or any other competant talent evaluator, it's Angelo we are talking about, dude sucks at drafting as a whole.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 29, 2011 -> 08:21 AM) Great story. No one probably is in a better position to write that story than McGrady too. Hopefully Howard wakes up. After reading Simmons take on Howard and a few other articles, I don't think Howard's number one priority is to win titles...if it was, Chicago would be his top desired destination, instead, he wants to go to the Nets, the dude is a doofus.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 26, 2011 -> 07:02 AM) The Bulls need more athleticism. f*** the wins. Bring back Tyrus Thomas. He's an athletic freak. While athleticism is nice, and if we are gonna go extremes, gimme fundamentally sound high BBall IQ players, (Bird, Magic, Stockton, Nowitzki, Duncan) over athletic freaks of nature... And if you have a time machine, I bet the 86 Celtics would be pretty successful in this era too.

Anyways, athleticism isn't the be all end all of basketball, Miami Heat>>>Mavericks on athleticism, how on earth did the beat Miami? 1986 Boston Celtics, maybe the best team ever, athletically challenged.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 25, 2011 -> 01:37 PM) I've always liked Tyson but people thinking he takes the Knicks from a .500 team to a contender is insanity. The Celtics have 50 pts in the paint, so much for that Tyson clogging up the paint. Basically, when the Knicks face a team that can exploit Melo and Amar'e lack of defense, they'll put a lot of PFs on Chandler.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 23, 2011 -> 08:25 AM) Green Bay 34 Chicago 6 The Bears D valiently holds the Packers offense until late in the 3rd when all of the Bears offensive 3 and outs wears down the Bears D and the Pack pull away with 3 TDs in the 4th... Since I know what's going to happen, I will not ruin my Christmas and will just savor the Bulls beatdown of the Lakers from earlier that day. Merry Christmas Bears and NFL fans except Packer fans, screw you , jk Merry Christmas to you guys too!

QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:24 AM) What do we see in the east beside heat and bulls anyway? D'antoni is tone deaf when it comes to his players needs to stay healthy. Even though I hate him, I feel for Amare this year. He's going to get run to death. The Knicks would be dangerous if they had a defensive minded coach, they got some natural scorers, it's as if the Knicks FO thought, "well, we tried winning a title with defense during the 90s, that didn't work, so let's be the Phoenix Suns of the east".

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 10:13 AM) To be fair I only see 3 title contenders in the NBA as a whole. Heat, Bulls and Thunder.

I think the East is the better conference, you have a declining Lakers and Spurs, the Mavs in my opinion look like a 1 championship team, Thunder are legit and the Clippers will be improved but not sold on title contender just yet, Grizzlies can be a dark horse. I just feel the Heat or the Bulls can beat any team in the West in the Finals.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 07:44 AM) I have a friend who loves to make bets where he is getting odds. He offered to give me my pick of 4 teams to win the championship this year and he gets the field at 2:1 odds. 1) Is this a good bet for me? 2) If so, do I take the Heat, Bulls, Mavs, and Thunder or is there a team I'm missing? I'm not a betting man but that looks like a solid bet, the NBA title will belong to the winner of the Heat/Bulls match up IMO.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 22, 2011 -> 01:23 AM) I've seen enough. The Clippers are a legitimate championship contender. Oh my goodness. Forget about Blake Griffin for a second. What planet is DeAndre Jordan from? How can you be that f***ing athletic at his size? He, IMO, will be the second best C in basketball when it's all said and done. The Clippers are the new Showtime. lol Vinny Del Negro says hi DeAndre Jordan, second best C of his generation or all-time?With J4L's infamous hyperbole, can't tell which one.
