QUOTE (BearSox @ Feb 10, 2009 -> 12:05 AM) that'd be like buying stock in google before anyone had any idea what the hell it was. Rome wasn't built in a day, my friend. Mark my word, Michael Dubee will make it at least as far as AA at some point in his career. On that day, i will make a montage of his Minor League highlights set to the tune of Beautiful Day By U2.

We know that Charlotte and Birmingham are going to be good. I just hope somebody can help Danks 2 hold down the fort with the Purple Phallus.

QUOTE (SoxAce @ Feb 7, 2009 -> 04:28 PM) One of my favorite sox players of the 90's mulling retirement. Man, i loved Ray Durham too. I really hope he hooks on somewhere. It's going to be weird when Thomas, Durham, and even Cameron are out of the League.

Baseball Prospectus has Sox down for 74 wins

The system seems very concerned with injuries to Konerko, Dye, and Thome. Also, it has never been able to get an accurate prediction on Buehrle. I love PECOTA, but there are too many factors for this team that are up in the air. -
I forgot how glorious NBA Street 2 was. Been playing it for about six hours straight now.

People who make "you know how i know you're gay jokes" when anyone references Coldplay.
-
Maybe i should start thinking about sponsoring Michael Dubee's page on Minor League Reference. I want to beat the rush
-
I imagine recognition for Soxtalk and a contibution in support of Baseball-Reference. Two great causes, if you ask me

The Angels will fall back significantly to the revitalized A's and the rapidly improving Mariner's.

If i had herpes, i'd hit everyone in sight. Watch out people.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 08:56 PM) together. I'm intrigued by a possible Kroger/Anderson platoon in CF. Same here. Two (reasonably) young players filled to the brim with unrealized potential.
-
QUOTE (MO2005 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 06:20 PM) Who can tell me down the stretch who had bigger hits than Wise? Alexei and Thome got us into the playoffs with the two biggest hits of the season.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Feb 9, 2009 -> 05:38 PM) Charlotte would be pretty good with Broussard, Allen, Cook, Nix, and Armstrong. Don't forget Kroeger, Restovich and the loser of our 5th starter battle
-
Broussard would be destined for Charlotte, and would take some heat off of Cook and Allen so i have no problem with the prospect of signing him.
-
Sabean's really gotten his act together this offseason. I'd say the addition of Crede would make them the class of the division.

QUOTE (knightni @ Feb 8, 2009 -> 09:27 AM) Anyone that size is due to be a 1B within 3 seasons. You just don't have the flexibility to stay a MLB-level 3B when you're as big as that. Konerko, Thome, Pujols, Bagwell, Sheffield, Bonilla, and Palmer all moved from 3B. Wasn't Konerko a catcher? I get your point though, and the switch is likley if he continues to grow. It also depends on whether Fields progresses at the position.

Two Observations: He's got a dip in his swing that could be of some concern. Easy to fix though. Also, The guy's huge! He and Brandon Allen across the diamond from each other will be something to see if it happens

QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 04:29 PM) I want Phoenix to relocate to Hartford Bring back the Whale! The reason they moved the first time was because Hartford sucks. Sadly, Hartford still sucks. -
This thing is tough to cast the best i could get was: Beane: Pitt (although i'd prefer someone else) Jeremy Brown (pending) KW: Chiwetel Ejiofor http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0252230/ Scott Hatteberg: David Denman http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0219292/ David Justice: Allen Payne http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005300/ Terrence Long: J August Richards http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0724124/ Paul Depodesta: Andy Buckley (David Wallace from the Office.) http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2952467/ Art Howe: John Sumner http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0838605/ Michael Lewis: Sean Whalen http://www.imdb.com/find?s=all&q=Sean+...mp;x=13&y=6

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 09:28 AM) Or maybe Chiwetel Elijiafor (butchered spelling I'm sure). That would be brilliant casting.
-
For the most part guys like KW, Beane and Epstein are all really outspoken, and quite good at their jobs. I'd say the most reserved (decent) GM is Mark Shapiro, and even he has a mouth on him. Personally, I have no problem with KW’s attitude he’s very self assured and that instills confidence.

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ Feb 6, 2009 -> 05:48 PM) I really hope David Cook rises to the occasion and wins the CF job. Its definitely not likely, but I just get the same vibe off him as I did Chris Getz(when he was in lowA) and think Cook will be successful in the bigs. I thought Cook was more of a corner guy? Doesn't he play LF/RF/1B?
-
Great to hear Kroeger's doing so well. The kid has always had a world of potential and can handle Center. Sadly, i don't see us giving him much of a shot, but hopefully he'll hit well enough to generate interest.

Former Toronto Blue jay Russ Adams was just DFA’d would anyone be opposed to bringing him in come spring? I realize it’s already crowded out there, but it would still be decent filler for AAA.
