  1. 100%. They've hinted at the fact that some HS guys they liked weren't available but the results are the results. I think they wanted SS Chris Seise in round 2. They loved him predraft. Burger was fine because they picked 11th. I'm curious to know if they would have taken Adell if given the chance though.
  2. Full disclosure on this: I didn't want to hammer the organization and tried to make it apparent in the article but the philosophy the last few years leaves much to be desired. I think they've drafted lots of big leaguers but the upside is limited. I hated the Sheets and Burdi picks. It can still work out but some troubling trends.
  3. I was done last night FWIW. You are apparently continuing your crusade though.
  4. This is still going? There were all sorts of rumors late last week about a Joc Pederson deal being done. I thought it would be announced at some point over this past weekend. Those reports were apparently not true or something happened causing a deal to not be announced. Lose the fake insider act though man. You make yourself sound very unintelligent and uninformed.
  5. SoCalSox is Aaron Leming.
  6. So this thread really is something. I don't have sources but I do hear a lot of shit daily because I talk to people. I'd never share any of it here with strangers because it's not my info to tell and I definitely wouldn't share it under the current state of this message board. This place used to be great. It's really, really bad now. Dave, Brian, Shack, and Aaron are all good dudes and they get legit info. People share what they can share. I think everyone needs to relax and let everything play out. Calling out guys because they don't share info on your terms though? That's weak. Be better.
  7. LOL this is bullshit
  8. Sorry. My fault. I meant the time difference is 3 hours. He didn't like that he'd be done playing at 10:30 on the west coast and it was 1:30am eastern time. That's what I meant.
  9. I'd have to look for it. He didn't like being in LA because his friends and family are in Miami and it's 3 hours away. Seems like a minor deal and something a shitload of $$ could fix. It could matter if deals are similar though.
  10. 7 years at $210 is bullshit. He's just quoting Levine and media reports. He has no idea what the offers are. I wouldn't necessarily bet $$ that he's coming to Chicago at this point but I'm fairly confident that he isn't going to the Padres. Machado has made it pretty clear that he's not a fan of the west coast.
  11. My issue with Rutherford is that he's a corner outfielder and I don't think he'll hit for enough power. I think the ballpark at Birmingham is going to do bad things to him. I obviously hope I'm wrong. He'll be 22 in May. My problem with a Yelich comp is that Yelich put a 118 wRC+ in the majors when he was Rutherford's age.
  12. He had Madrigal in the 30's I think as a draft prospect. I doubt he's on the list.
  13. My personal top 30 is below: 1. Eloy Jimenez OF 2. Michael Kopech RHP 3. Dylan Cease RHP 4. Luis Robert OF 5. Nick Madrigal INF 6. Dane Dunning RHP 7. Zack Collins C 8. Micker Adolfo OF 9. Luis Alexander Basabe OF 10. Alec Hansen RHP 11. Luis Gonzalez OF 12. Blake Rutherford OF 13. Steele Walker OF 14. Jake Burger INF 15. Zack Burdi RHRP 16. Seby Zavala C 17. Jordan Stephens RHP 18. Spencer Adams RHP 28. Bernardo Flores LHP 29. Luis Curbelo INF 30. Laz Rivera INF
  14. I try to do this every year to show where the White Sox picks will likely be. We'll just do the first two picks for now. Bryce Harper, Dallas Keuchel, Patrick Corbin, Craig Kimbrel, Yasmani Grandal, Hyun Jin Ryu and AJ Pollock all received the qualifying offer from their clubs. Arizona is the only team that will receive a pick after round 1 for their players. Boston and Washington would receive picks after round 3. Houston and Los Angeles would receive a pick after Competitive Balance Round B. The White Sox would forfeit their 2nd rounder and the bonus pool attached to sign any FA that received a QO. UPDATES: Corbin to Washington (AZ receives compensation), Grandal to Brewers (Dodgers receive compensation), Pollock to Dodgers (AZ receives compensation). Harper, Kimbrel and Keuchel remain unsigned but none of the 3 will affect the Sox's top picks. 1. Baltimore 2. Kansas City 3. White Sox 4. Miami 5. Detroit 6. San Diego 7. Cincinnati 8. Texas 9. Atlanta (Comp for not signing Carter Stewart) 10. San Francisco 11. Toronto 12. Mets 13. Minnesota 14. Philadelphia 15. Angels 16. Arizona 17. Washington 18. Pittsburgh 19. St. Louis 20. Seattle 21. Atlanta 22. Tampa Bay 23. Colorado 24. Cleveland 25. Dodgers 26. Arizona (Comp for not signing Matt McLain) 27. Cubs 28. Milwaukee 29. Oakland 30. Yankees 31. Dodgers (Comp for not signing JT Ginn) 32. Houston 33. Boston 34. Arizona (Patrick Corbin Compensation) 35. Arizona (AJ Pollock Compensation) Competitive Balance Round A 36. Miami 37. New York Yankees (FROM CIN) 38. Minnesota 39. Tampa Bay 40. Milwaukee 41. Oakland Round 2 42. Baltimore 43. Kansas City 44. White Sox
  15. Agree with this 100%. There's no need to add anymore relievers. They already have Colome, Herrera, Jones, and Hamilton as near roster locks from the RH side. On the left side, Fry, Frare and Bummer. This doesn't even take into account: Minaya, Covey, Fulmer, Burr, Vieira, or Randall Delgado. They also have Burdi and Thompson who are really close to the majors and guys like Tyler Johnson, Medeiros and Schryver who really don't need a ton of minor league time. I'd be pretty surprised if they signed anymore relievers, especially to major league deals.
  16. Who else were you expecting? I think Collins will be on Fangraphs' list and Adolfo will be on Keith Law's list. Rutherford probably will still be listed at pipeline.
  17. Yeah I don't see any way the Sox give up the pick for anyone other than Harper.
  18. Kind of a rule for me is that guys either need a chance to start or have to be high leverage types to make a top 30 list. Medeiros likely ends up in pen but he has a chance to start so I included him. Burdi, Hamilton and Johnson are all closer types.
  19. Why would the Sox forfeit a high 2nd rounder for 2 years of Pollock?
  20. Sure it is. He destroyed the AFL this year though. If he's healthy, I'm fairly certain he's a top 20 prospect in the sport at this time next year. The BA list has Victor Victor in front of him. That's nuts to me.
  21. They list Robert at 55 Hit, 60 Power, 70 Speed, 60 Defense, 55 Arm. That's a 1st division regular in CF. They have him too low especially with some of the names before him.
  22. There are 5 White Sox listed on this one: https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2019-top-100-prospects/ 3. Eloy Jimenez OF 21.Michael Kopech RHP 38. Dylan Cease RHP 43. Nick Madrigal 2B 76. Luis Robert CF They are way too low on Luis Robert considering some of the players they have in front of him in my opinion.
  23. I doubt it would be to facilitate. The Sox want to add Joc Pederson to their team. Will they trade what it takes to get him? No idea
  24. I think in 2020 they realistically contend. It's not even about that for me. Adam Engel shouldn't be playing regularly for the Sox even if they aren't expected to be good. In 2017, he posted a wRC+ of 38. That number improved to 68 last season. He's not a major leaguer.
