FS: White Sox Interested in signing Cuban SS Yolbert Sanchez
Thanks. I understand those who are concerned and I don't disagree. I'm really trying to understand this from their perspective which is hard at times.

Bryce Bush and Lenyn Sosa to Kanny to start year
We are trying to put together the rosters at FutureSox. I've reached out to multiple people. It's not going well haha. I know that Sosa, Bush, Nunez, Zangari, Curbelo, Steele Walker, Pilkington, Stiever are all at Kannapolis though. Madrigal/Robert at W-S.

Most "watchable" minors team 2019
I think Basabe goes up to Charlotte when Robert goes to AA.

Most "watchable" minors team 2019
Birmingham should start with Gonzalez, Rutherford, Basabe (injured), Adolfo, Sheets, Rivera as the most interesting position players, yes. In the rotation it will likely be: Lambert, Flores, Medeiros. Tyler Johnson, Hunter Schryver and some AAA excess likely in the bullpen. All these close to ready relievers can't go to Charlotte

I would say Birmingham because they are loaded now and should receive Robert and Madrigal by early June

Bryce Bush and Lenyn Sosa to Kanny to start year
General consensus. He was mocked in the top 10 of those drafts that come out immediately after the current draft for the following year.

At least Pilkington is left handed. They took Tyler Danish with a top 50 selection.

Curbelo is also going back to Kannapolis. I'll be curious to see how they split up the playing time down there. This team is really interesting though. College outfielders and college pitchers as well.

Sox interested in Yolbert Sanchez
Offensively. I think Yolbert is a better defender with a better arm and is faster though.

I place the Walker/Mitchell picks and that generally philosophy squarely on Reinsdorf. The Sox draft record was terrible under Kenny Williams. Much of that is that Kenny loved athletes. You know who else preached this? John Scheurholtz. The problem is that the athletes Reinsdorf was willing to spend on weren't very good. People won't disagree with me on this and their draft record speaks for itself. But Reinsdorf's reluctance to spend on the draft was always the biggest issue.

This isn't really true. Plus arm, plus speed and defense out of a SS is valuable. He's going to be a top 10 guy in the class. The age is puzzling though.

MLBpipeline has Sanchez as the #4 international prospect in the current signing period. I'm not sure where he'd be listed in the next period. He's 22 years old. 6'0 180. B/T: R/R Known for his elite defense, Sanchez's polished glove might be ready for the big leagues now. According to scouts, he can spray the ball from "line to line" and is considered a line-drive hitter. He ultimately projects to hit eight to 10 homers in the big leagues. He is also known for his average to slightly above average arm as well as an average to slightly above average running ability. Scouts also like his game instincts and track record. Sanchez was the starting shortstop for the Havana Industriales and projected to be the starting shortstop for the island's national team before his defection last summer. He was the starting shortstop for Cuba's 23U team in Panama and was a teammate of White Sox prospect Luis Robert on the country's 18U team. Because of his age and experience, Sanchez will sign under the international signing guidelines. The Orioles, who came up short in their pursuit of Cuban outfielders Victor Victor Mesa and Victor Mesa Jr. and Cuban pitcher Sandy Gaston, still have close to $6 million in bonus pool money and were among the first teams to scout Sanchez in person. Should the Orioles decide to trade away their bonus money, the Twins, Brewers, Pirates, D-backs, Rockies, Indians, Royals, Tigers, Mariners, Blue Jays and Giants could be possible partners and thus be in a position to make a substantial offer. The Dodgers, Phillies, Rangers, Cubs and Red Sox have money to spend during the current signing period. The Astros, Mets, Cardinals and White Sox could be among the teams in play for Sanchez if he decides to wait until the next signing period that starts July 2. Sanchez is represented by Ulises Cabrera of Octagon and trains with Edwin Castillo in the Dominican Republic. Scouting Grades: HIt 45, Power 45, Run 55, Arm 55, Field 65.

I mean it kind of sounds like it, yeah.

I've heard that Sanchez is a major league ready defender today. Plus arm, speed and defense at SS. He needs work offensively though.

I'm assuming so.

I agree with guys like SS2K and bmags on this. This is puzzling. I have it from a really solid source though that it's highly possible. He's close to big league ready but I have the same questions as others. They shouldn't have money laying around. They've had two years to plan for this class. They also don't need near major league ready infielders using this avenue of talent procurement.

Dallas Keuchel time is now.
If the Sox aren't willing to spend actual money in free agency then they can't give up top 50 selections for marginal upgrades. It doesn't really make sense at this point.

Guess the Opening Day 25 Man
Charlotte bullpen will be awesome. Burdi/Hamilton/Ruiz/Thompson/Fulmer/Vieira/Bummer in some fashion.

Luis Robert to Start Season in A+
Ideally though, they want Walker finishing the year in BIrmingham with Adolfo, Basabe and Gonzalez in Charlotte

2019 MLB draft thread
Best case scenario for the Sox is Baltimore taking Witt or Abrams at #1. Kansas City will take Rutschman or Vaughn at #2 leaving the other college hitter for the Sox to take.

Luis Robert to Start Season in A+
He's 22. I think he goes to Winston Salem and the college OF types from last year go to Kanny

Makes sense. Madrigal and Steele Walker should be there with him.
