Just like with Alonso, I feel like Rondon is getting his last bit of run before they ultimately decide to outright him to AAA and call up Mendick.

Collins is likely a platoon, but I don’t see why we don’t let him face LHP in a meaningless year and see if he can get better. That being said, him not facing RHP on a regular basis is the greater concern and very perplexing.

The Sox are signing two starters as we have basically zero organizational depth in the upper minors. That will allow us to either push Kopech to AAA to start 2020 or move Lopez to the bullpen, both options allowing us to go six deep to starter the starter.

Maybe it happens, but my point is it would be a gross overpay on the Braves’ part. Your initial post made it sound like a gross overpay would only be a top 30 prospect which is what I disagree with.

His stock had already started to fall (was probably moreso in the 60 to 80 range) and we gave up a controllable, young reliever with elite stuff plus a proven closer and 3B stopgap. Colome commanding a legit top 50 prospect would be a gross overpay.

Lol...that’s basically the same as this year’s payroll, maybe even less. Plus it would be a bottom five payroll for a team with a lengthy history of at least being middle of pack when going for it. No rational person would actually believe this, but obviously you’re just letting your pessimism get the best of you as usual.

Lavine is our best hope for a star, so no idea why you’re so eager to trade him. And why do you think they play better when he’s not on the court?

The vast majority of the site did not want Giolito DFAed. And this cockiness is only going to result in some sort of injury. You best be careful Jack when testing the baseball gods as they can be extremely vengeful.

Yeah I was slow out of the gate there, but 100% agree. We need to celebrate these wins, especially now that the core of a quality young team is starting to take shape.

He posted some nice numbers in AAA, just isn’t striking out anyone in the majors. His good luck was going to end at some point.

He’s been really good the past month or so. There still may be hope with him. As for Rutherford, I know his average has shot up as of late, but his K rate, BB rate, & ISO have remained bad during this stretch. I’m not giving up on him or anything, but his recent stretch looks like BABIP regression to the mean more than anything.

He’s got more raw power than Luis Gonzalez.

The most important development of the season is Lucas establishing himself as a legit TOR season. So awesome to see.

Giolito is such a fucking stud. If we could somehow land Cole this offseason, we could have the best rotation in baseball by 2021.

You continue to evaluate the Alonso trade as a baseball move which it never was. From an on-field value perspective we were always going to lose the trade from day 1, so it’s disingenuous to say Hahn got clowned. The issue was not pairing the Yonder trade with a $300M offer for Machado.
