  1. Bush, Larson, Carela, & Berroa already with TJS!! That’s three top 25 prospects plus a young reliever expected to factor in the closer mix this year. Holy f*** that’s a bad start to the season.
  2. It’s certainly less of an issue with Meidroth. Just feels unnecessary to put him on the OD roster and easily avoidable.
  3. There is no guarantee it will matter, but I can’t really get behind potentially sacrificing 160 games of a player down the road for 20 games right now. That is even more the case when we will likely lose 110 games this year and are multiple years away from competing. I also don’t think there is any draft compensation upside by having him on the OD roster since he’s not a top 100 prospect. IMO, there really isn’t much upside from it beyond a little short-term positive affirmation.
  4. I think this only tells part of the story. These teams had MVP caliber QBs for long stretches during this time. If you look at last year, the Super Bowl champs have a former 1st round RB and so did the regular season NFC champs (both were top 10 selections). I think it’s too simple to say don’t ever select a RB early in the 1st round…however, I think it’s critical to have most other key pieces in place before you make a big investment in RB. IMO, we should be able to get a high-end RB prospect in the 2nd all while adding a significant prospect for the trenches in the 1st. And if we don’t love the guys available with our 2nd picks, there will be legitimate RB talent in the 3rd as well.
  5. I will be very bummed if we don’t wait two or three weeks to call up Meidroth and throw away a year of team control. Obviously it’s far less egregious of a decision than rushing a less ready, higher ceiling player in Montgomery but it would be super easy just roll with Amaya for a couple weeks before swapping him out for Chase.
  6. Reported where? That would be massive news and all over Soxtalk, Twitter, Reddit, etc.
  7. Again, I think he’s referring to Ishbia taking and potentially putting his own guy in place to run things.
  8. Where are you coming up a theoretical 40% number?
  9. I think he means when Ishbia takes over.
  10. Personal attacks? You continue to say wild stuff on a message board and then expect a free pass. Billion dollar transactions don’t happen in the open and to suggest otherwise is either blatant trolling or a level of ignorance that’s beyond comprehension. Ishbia & Jerry don’t owe us s%*# and they aren’t going to risk their massive deal falling through to keep you up-to-speed.
  11. Amaya is a perfect two week placeholder if you want to buy a year of control with Meidroth before adding him to the 40 man. I’m not even convinced they will play the service time manipulation game with Meidroth, but that’s how you’d do it.
  12. I laugh at the notion that any major business transaction would be done in the open. It’s legitimately nonsenscial.
  13. Fully agree. I’m expecting Hampton or Johnson in the 2nd round.
  14. That’s exactly what I’m thinking would happen.
  15. You’re right, he doesn’t have to…but if he wants to max out his proceeds on a sale then doing something with Ishbia while alive is probably his best option assuming a deal can be structured in a way to avoid the capital gains hit.
  16. He can only front money for the stadium if it comes with a capital call. And if that happens, my guess is he would be looking for a formal transfer of control since is the majority shareholder and would be footing a huge chunk of the bill.
  17. Lol…have you seriously never owned stock? Like what in the f*** are you talking about.
  18. I have no idea why his ownership stake would have any bearing on him being on the hook for a large capital gains hit. If he sells before he dies without the proper deal structure, he will 100% end up taking a big hit that can otherwise be avoided.
  19. 🤣🤣🤣 This is the most insane thing I have ever seen posted at this board. Next time just type out “I hate private equity companies and can’t be rationale ok the subject” instead of typing out a bunch of nonsense.
  20. So already some news leaking out…
  21. I don’t disagree, although you have to have some AAA depth on your 40 man roster in the event of injury. Fletcher should be kept until someone better with options comes along and I haven’t seen that person yet. Colas is probably just a function of bringing in a new leader on the hitting side of things and making sure he’s had a proper chance to evaluate the player before moving on.
