Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Meidroth remains the favorite to be our Opening Day SS. I went to DraftKings earlier this week and he is not a betting option for AL ROY. As soon as he is, make sure to place your bets because he’s going to run away with it.

Opening Day 26-Man Roster

That contract has not worked out well for the Red Sox- 24-25 NFL Thread
It’s a really week draft though, especially at the top of it. What players would you be interested in at 1.10? There may not be a LT or pass rusher prospect worth taking. Again, I would personally try to trade down and accumulate more picks, but that requires a trading partner who is willing to pay to move up.- DVS retiring...
It’s a dying industry and given his tenure he probably makes a lot more than a potential replacement.- Shortstop Candidates
Getz also had a brief interview on the demotion and said they liked his defense at SS this spring.- 24-25 NFL Thread
I agree that a high end pass rusher would be the ideal addition, but just not sure you will get a sure thing at 1.10. Honestly, I’d prefer to trade down and add more picks if someone surprising doesn’t make it to our pick. Simmons might worth a gamble later in the 1st and there should be talent at DT, EDGE, RB, TE, & WR in the 2nd & 3rd. Unfortunately, I’m just not sure there will be a lot of teams eager to move up into our pick and could see Poles going BPA at 1.10 which could very well be Jeanty.- 24-25 NFL Thread
No doubt, but hard to argue that he didn’t have a massive impact on the Eagles’ success last year. Shelf life is a concern obviously and there may not be a ton of separation between good and average RBs, but I think having an elite RB can transform an offense. Having said that, for the juice to really be worth the squeeze, you need to have the rest of your roster mostly in place. Let me ask this question. What realistic pick at 1.10 could have a bigger impact for us than Jeanty next year? I still think drafting a LT prospect or pass rusher makes the most sense long-term (if the right player is there), but those guys might just be role players or marginal upgrades in Y25. I just don’t see a bunch of other spots where a rookie comes into this roster and makes an immediate impact. Now, that doesn’t mean take Jeanty at 1.10 (especially in a super deep RB draft), but I think the question highlights that the bulk of the pieces needed to field a really good team are in place and you can probably consider splurging on a potential playmaker at less prioritized position and still add depth at other spots with your other picks.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I think the Dodgers lack desperation since they know they are going to the playoffs next year no matter what and can wait and see if Getz panics.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Which options are you referring to? Roster Resource currently has Outman as the Dodger’s CF.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
No, I doubt Friedman has offered anything in that stratosphere yet or else a deal would likely have been agreed to.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Hope is probably a 55 FV prospect, which to me is a really good but not elite prospect. Enough uncertainty with him to not lose sleep over what he could be down the road when you are the Dodgers, have a strong farm system, and are in a prime competitive window.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
If I’m the Dodgers, I’d 100% be willing to trade a non-elite OF prospect for three years of a major league OF with a star ceiling during a competitive window. I’m not suggesting they will, but it’s a gamble they should be willing to take unless they just think his health is a completely unsolvable issue.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
That’s weird- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
I get the OF additions because they are blocking no one of importance. It will be very frustrating if Rojas takes away meaningful at-bats away from Vargas, Sosa, Meidroth, Baldwin, or Ramos. Thaiss is a totally fine placeholder to buy some time for Teel & Quero. Perez & Wilson are cheap options to eat innings. We haven’t really signed any other veterans.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Fletcher got 241 plate appearances and was terrible (41 wRC+). DeLoach didn’t get quite that long of an opportunity, but he also struggled in the majors. More importantly, neither of them was good in Charlotte. I don’t agree with handing major league opportunities to guys who can’t succeed in AAA. IMO, those two are just plain scouting misses.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
Which prospects were blocked last year though? The reality is the org was so broken that there wasn’t much young talent pushing for playing time.- Opening Day 26-Man Roster
Zero reason to rush Pallette. He’ll be up at some point this year, but might as well give him half a season in AA or AAA before doing so. Has been McGough been optioned to minor league camp? Who else hasn’t received a fair shot?- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
To be honest, there are a ton of things that will be fun to watch this year. The bulk of the rotation is going to be young, controllable guys. Martin, Burke, Smith, Thorpe, & Cannon (and eventually others) will make most games worth watching to some extent. The infield and catching areas are loaded with youth that will arrive over the 1H. Even 1B & DH should have some interesting kids to follow in Vargas, Sosa, Ramos, etc. The OF is the only real area that lacks young talent and no doubt it will be ugly if they trade Robert, but if you get the right return you have to do it. I would need one high ceiling positional prospect (preferably an OF) to even consider a trade along with some other stuff. De Paula (despite lacking defensive value) and Hope would both qualify. There is a package there that could work for both sides, but I just don’t buy the Dodgers giving up one of those kids (plus more) for Robert right now. An end of camp trade usually requires a desperate buyer or seller and neither the Sox or Dodgers fit the mold at the moment.- 24-25 NFL Thread
Sure seems like Saquon’s did last year.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
My point was more around needing to get De Paula or Hope vs. other potential headliners in their system, but I’d certainly push for more than just a single 55 FV prospect for Robert. Cease got us a prospect ranked in the 60’s at multiple publications (55 FV guy) plus two other org top 10 prospects (one who was cracking some top 100 lists) and people are already ridiculing that trade for being light. And yes, a positional prospect of that stature is worth more than Thorpe was at the time, but the point remains the same. Doing a one for one swap with a potential star is a bad practice and we should try to diversify some risk by getting second piece and possibly a lottery ticket.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
You have to get De Paula or Hope full stop plus a decent second piece or two, even if those pieces are unlikely to be of the top 100 variety.- White Sox asking for "top prospects" for Robert
De Paula or Hope would need to be the centerpiece.- How's that Organizational Pitching Philosophy Coming Along?
“Star in the making”…where is that quote from?- How's that Organizational Pitching Philosophy Coming Along?
