  1. Which article are you referring to?
  2. I think someone said Boughton ended up agreeing to a figure that allowed them to push him down to #11, so my guess is he is he’s getting around $300k.
  3. Sorry, I didn’t mean to suggest there was any risk. There weren’t any Hail Mary HS picks in rounds 11 to 20 to worry about and teams wouldn’t burn picks and the slot bonus they come with in the first 10 rounds. More just trying to show the math would work.
  4. Let hug watch officially begin.
  5. The 5% overage alone is worth $600k and all the seniors they signed in rounds they could theoretically save another $700k or so. As long as Carlson is at slot, they should probably have enough to cover the couple of other overslot guys.
  6. The idea is if he keeps hitting at 120 wRC+ clip the rest of the way, teams may believe he finally figured something out and is back to prior form. If so, his value theoretically goes up in the offseason. I just don’t buy that the front office will be willing to make that bet, especially after burned a couple times now.
  7. Feels like a White Sox plant to me.
  8. Wow, I was in my honeymoon in Bora Bora the first time I heard that name
  9. Robert with a 120 wRC+ over his last 100 PAs with an ISO at his career average and a BABIP just below his historical norms.
  10. I say this all the time, but we are basically getting nothing out of our LatAm operations. Looking at this list, there are only two players that were signed by us at LatAm amateur free agents. I can’t even imagine how good our list would be if we were actually competitive in the Dominican. Hopefully we are a couple years out from thst happening.
  11. Anyway…Keith Law sure did like our draft. I don’t always agree with his takes and he certainly has some strong biases, but the dude is a great talent evaluator and really knows position players. As such, it’s good he endorsed our haul.
  12. I’m not sure why we’d be against Rule 5 eligible prospects if they are close to major league ready.
  13. Wilson getting the job done!
  14. Ugly looking peripherals at the moment and I think there too many other arms in front of him to warrant much discussion with opposing teams.
  15. Thorpe is still under 50 innings pitched, which right or wrong, is the methodology BA uses. I think he’s slotted appropriately if deemed eligible.
  16. Weird that Vargas is heating up again, I thought he we condemned to bust status after that cold streak 🤷
  17. Here are my odds of players being traded: Robert = -9900 Houser = -9900 Slater = -400 Tauchman = -300 Wilson = -150 Taylor = +100 Alexander =+200 Eisert = +350 Civale = +500 Gilbert = +700 Lee = +800 Martin = +900 Sosa = +1200 Rojas = +1900 Altavilla = +5000 Benintendi = +9900 Definitely seems like 5 to 7 is possible and I wouldn’t completely rule out one surprise player (Lee, Martin, or Sosa) being traded.
  18. I know Burke remains inconsistent, but he’s a very productive starter over his last nine starts. Still a work in progress but has shown significant signs of improvement.
  19. That might end up being true, and honestly, I’m very open to a lot more platooning than Rick Hahn ever did. I’d still give Baldwin a shot against LHP until we are more serious about winning though. I not quite ready to write him off as a platoon guy yet.
  20. I think he’s a prototypical Dodgers UT guy in that he plays everyday, but can move around based on the needs of the team.
  21. It would be insane if they didn’t, especially post deadline when we should have gaping holes in the OF.
  22. Dude will be a 2 to 3 win guy with some growth and enough playing time.
  23. Baldwin is fucking legit guys.
  24. I actually think it’s a pretty good list. There’s eight top 100 caliber prospects at the top of it (including several high ceiling ones) plus a bunch of other arms (many who could be SPs) and infielders. Honestly, this is the deepest I ever remember a list being, although the list will be radically different by the end of this season with graduations. I think the relief prospects are simply ranked too high and should be in the 20 to 30 range. The real problem is the lack of power and OF talent. I get the notion that up the middle prospects can “play anywhere” but at some point you need guys with legit power that can fill holes at 1B, DH, & LF. I know it won’t be a popular opinion, but it’s an area we have completely underinvested in since the rough patch where we took Collins, Burger, Vaughn, & Sheets with 1st and 2nd round picks.
