  1. His hard hit and exit velocity rates went from elite in 2019 to average the last two years. In 2019 every time he made contact it looked he was crushing the ball whereas it didn’t appear that way the last two years.
  2. This is just stupid man. Arguably the most physically gifted player in baseball who is known for working his ass off actually makes substantial improvements in his second season and you assume it’s all SSS luck? How in the world do you live this way?
  3. I think Robert & Eloy will both be star hitters when it’s all said and done, but need to keep them (especially Eloy) healthy. Still not sure what to make of Moncada yet, although I do think COVID sapped his strength some.
  4. Lol…I had to google after this, now it’s clicking
  5. Robert looked like the best player on the planet last year year and Eloy was amazing during 2020 (SSS). Your pessimism knows no bounds.
  6. Isn’t this dude a fraud or am I mistaking him with someone else?
  7. You’re also missing peavy44, who had some of the best “insider” info ever. Unfortunately, people refused to believe him because his grammar & spelling wasn’t so good.
  8. Slow you’re roll there guy as I never said it was Conforto & free agent SP or bust. If they did both, that would be an awesome offseason for us and I was hoping they’d actually do just that. But for me, it’s always been at least one free agent at the level of Conforto or better. Anything less than that is an object failure. And they’d still have to fill their other holes with decent to really good players for it to all work. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not going to defend Jerry here. He’s fucked us over for years with his risk adversion to long-term contracts and an unwillingness to invest in his team to make money. But at the same time, ignoring the reality of budgets and luxury taxes is stupid and few to no teams address all their needs in free agency. The reality is we have a ton of high paid players absorbing a ton of payroll space. I wish Jerry would go out and sign every major free agent, but he’s not Cohen and there will be financial constraints.
  9. How many teams only supplement their cores via free agency?
  10. So we think this is it for the night and the rest of the fireworks will happen tomorrow? I hope to god my workday stays light tomorrow.
  11. And I will be leading that meltdown! Real talk, but if we could land one free agent excluding Seager, Correa, & Bryant, who would you want it to be?
  12. Yeah, I really think we might see Conforto, Kimbrel for Segura + Marchan, and prospects for A’s starter be the bulk of our remaining moves. One thing I didn’t realize is we are dangerously close to the luxury tax under the current CBA ($22.6M below). I could see us pushing a $190M cash payroll, but Jerry paying any sort of luxury tax seems questionable at best. Obviously that threshold could change in the upcoming CBA, but that’s an angle I was never concerned about until now.
  13. I just meant he suggested we would be aggressive this offseason. I don’t think the Sox would actually leak the specific targets they are after, which is a bit concerning since there aren’t any other TOR starters left at Ray. Seems like we’ll be going the trade route there unfortunately.
  14. They’re not going to stay put, but not many rumors out there for us expect this bad boy: In Nightengale I trust…
  15. I seriously doubt it, but if is then god save us all
  16. I actually bought several pairs of season tickets when Nightengale tweeted out we were going to be aggressive and named Ray & Semien. I didn’t want to risk the Sox running out once we finally reeled in the big fish.
  17. As much as I wanted to believe that we’d sign Scherzer, it never felt realistic unless we were prepared to go well over $200M in payroll. That being said, Hahn better land Conforto and have some other aces up his sleeve. I’m going to be really pissed if Rick deals Kimbrel for Seguara and positions that as one of our major moves this offseason.
  18. Sox in the Basement podcast.
  19. You are literally insane and Samson recently pointed that people have been misinterpreting that quote and that Jerry wants to win.
  20. To be fair, only Nightengale reported that I believe
  21. This pretty much seals it.
  22. That’s true, but didn’t seem like any AL teams were in the mix outside of the Angels.
  23. Oh fuck…anyone but the Mets.
  24. Agree. And probably wouldn’t want to pitch for them if I was already a millionaire 200x over and at the tail-end of my career.
