It’s almost like he’s kid with less than 60 games experience ?

To be fair it’s been two innings. I like what I’m seeing so far, but it’s way too early to draw any real conclusions.

Some big hits are coming soon enough, it’s just a matter of time when facing B & C tier left-handed starters.

This Mitch Trubisky comparison you’re trying to make is truly bizarre...they were nothing alike as draft prospects.

4-5 GT: CWS @ SEA (9:10 PM CT)
The Sox definitely need to add left-handed bat with some defensive versatility to the bench between now and the deadline. Brad Miller would have been a nice fit, but unfortunately that would set us back way too much financially.

It’s obviously an unconventional comparison, but the point is Hamilton is getting a lot of rope while Hendriks isn’t. And I don’t hate Hamilton, I just think it’s insane to use him as anything other than a pinch runner & defensive substitute at this point in his career.

My beef isn’t spending the money on Hendriks necessarily (I would have prioritized other things given our salary constraints in hindsight), but his value is tied to him pitching a lot and in all sorts of high leverage situations. Only 1.1 innings in four close games is crazy and not using him last night is simply unacceptable. I hope La Russa has much more aggressive plans for Liam than what we have seen so far or his signing will be a total waste of minimal financial resources we were able to deploy this winter.

Wow...more Billy fucking Hamilton. He’s already at 13.1 innings on the year and should surpass 20 by the end of tonight. Meanwhile, our biggest free agent addition is sitting at a cool 1.1. What a fucking mess.

Does Liam automatically get an inning tonight or will La Russa continue to save his closer for save situations only?

4/4 GT- 7:37 CT- Sox vs Halos
They were able to contend last year with most of these same guys and black holes at DH & RF, so they should be able to again. But this is where the lack of depth hurts. No one is expecting all stars on the bench, but a reserve infielder who can play SS & 2B while not being a black hole against RHP would be a godsend right now. Instead we have to rock Leury out there while Timmy misses time. Unfortunately, when you compound that with a bunch of developing players your margin for error becomes razor thin.

4/4 GT- 7:37 CT- Sox vs Halos
He’s played 60 total games, I get he’s looked ugly, but the kid will likely adjust. It’s just going to take some time. Unfortunately, that puts even more pressure on Jose & Yoan to mash.

Hendriks was Tony’s big offseason addition so probably important to build up his stat sheet.

I think Moncada will be fine as he frequently has bad stretches like this, but when he goes cold so does the offense now without Eloy.

The TLR Manager Thread
It’s absolutely bonkers and terrifying at the same time. Hendriks should pitch nearly every other day as longs as game are close. We can’t just save him for save situations all the time.
