  1. Why even hire him if he planned to step away the moment this was to go public?
  2. You think he wins? I got to think Cash is the favorite, but what do I know? Couldn’t be better timing to enrage the fanbase a bit more.
  3. Ricky must be loving all this backlash!
  4. But they didn’t lie here, they actually owed up to knowing. Like no doubt Jerry probably knew eight or nine months ago, he just doesn’t give a fuck about what anyone thinks unfortunately.
  5. Which is sad that Tony’s BS will steal some of the spotlight away from a big moment for Jose.
  6. That’s what they need to do if they decide to keep him
  7. Now would be an excellent time for a Bruce Bochy detour with Sam Fuld brought on as bench coach and Ethan Katz as pitching coach. Act like it never actually happened and hopefully all is forgiven by opening day.
  8. When does the AL MVP winner get announced? Pretty sad that Jose possibly winning will now get partly overly over-shadowed by this bullshit.
  9. He would done it somewhere else? None of this falls on Rick Hahn and you demanding his job is straight up ridiculous.
  10. You agree Rick Hahn will have blood on his hands if he doesn’t resign over this?
  11. If this ends up with La Russa leaving, it’s because Tony decided it wasn’t worth the headache. Jerry is not firing his best bud when he already knew about this.
  12. Yeah, this thread definitely aged nicely.
  13. The problem is Jerry knew and simply didn’t care, but when you’re undermining your own GM and making him look like a total asshole after winning Executive of the Year I guess that should be expected.
  14. Just move to Nashville, it’s much better than becoming a Cubs fan
  15. And so was La Russa for the first 56 years of his life ?
  16. If alcoholism is the problem, then why is Ozzie an option?
  17. Money is always the great equalizer and Jerry better be willing to spend to overcome this mess. Unfortunately knowing our luck, we’ll trade any young talent not yet part of the core to fill holes cause Jerry is a cheap fuck and we’ll end up greatly shortening our window.
  18. That definitely could be an option.
  19. Why would he lose his job or be disciplined because of a crime the organization knew about before hiring him? Reinsdorf doesn’t give a fuck about us and is going to put an end of his biggest “mistake” even if it destroys any goodwill they built from this rebuild. I’ve put up with a lot of Jerry Reinsdorf over the years and have tried not to be a pure hater, but undermining his GM to hire his old buddy coming fresh off a DUI arrest is absolutely appalling and shows how truly selfish the guy is.
  20. I know it won’t do anything, but I just emailed Reifert the following which made me feel better SUBJECT: La Russa ”What a displaceable coaching hire and you guys should be absolutely embarrassed right now. You literally had an opportunity to win back the city & develop a new lifeline of Sox fans, but instead you undid all the goodwill you created in one fair swoop. For better or worse, I’m stuck with this team regardless of the frequent frustration it brings to my life, but I’m done trying to get my sons invested in an organization that knowingly hired a 76 year old arrested for his second DUI to be their manager. They deserve much better than an organization who puts the owner’s personal needs over the well-being of their own players and fanbase.”
  21. It’s not even the organization, it’s literally one dude we should be mad at. Unfortunately for us, Jerry Reinsdorf doesn’t give a fuck about his fanbase and put his need to make up for his biggest “mistake” ever at the expense of his front office, players, & fanbase. People need to direct their anger at him and him alone.
  22. Great post. In Balta’s warped mind, if Rick Hahn doesn’t resign he’s basically an accomplice for whatever La Russa does behind the wheel.
  23. Thank you! I get the anger over this, but demanded Rick Hahn resign from a dream job in his hometown of Chicago is just laughable.
  24. Yup, as long as he doesn’t work for the Sox he can’t find a bar & a car! It’s now up to Rick Hahn & KW to save lives by resigning from their front office positions!
