  1. I still have some faith simply because he called out major league talent being involved. He didn’t really need to say that, so for now I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt. But I’m definitely getting more skeptical by the minute.
  2. I feel you on that! Literally just got my two little ones down and I immediately refresh SoxTalk and there are only like three posts.
  3. He said the moves involves major league talent and prospects. Perhaps I’m reading too much into it, but I take both of those as being plural.
  4. I’ll give it to midnight. This reminds me of that one night of the 2015 Winter Meetings where we signed Robertson & Shark and both moves came out late that night. Hopefully a better outcome this time.
  5. Man the wait is killing me...just want to know if this trade is legit or not
  6. Whatever this trade that Not Steve Cishek is referring has to be fairly substantial as based on his wording it apparently involves at least four Sox players, with two being major leaguers and two being minor leaguers.
  7. You want to pay McCann $18M next year? Cause that’s what a QO guarantees him.
  8. Yup, seems like a no-brainer to me whether we trade Heuer or not.
  9. Yeah, I kind of worded that stupidly, but I guess what I mean is do the Sox feel they can trade Heuer because they feel Lopez & Rodon can be effective out of the pen?
  10. The only major league pieces I could see being moved are Dunning, Lopez, & Heuer (based on not being used today). I guess it’s possible that McCann could get moved and maybe Mazara is included as a salary offset in a move for a RF, but that’s more or less it.
  11. I’m more concerned about our bullpen without Heuer than our offense with Mazara / Engel platooning in RF. If we do move Heuer, I wonder if the plan is to immediately send Lopez & Rodon to the pen.
  12. If Heuer is involved, it would theoretically make much more sense.
  13. What’s the point of adding a RF if we’re forced to decimate our bullpen? Heuer is of our four best relievers at the moment, so I’m pretty surprised they’d move him for a 2020 playoff run.
  14. He’s only made 20 career starts, so no reason to give up on him yet over bad peripherals. And my guess is Kopech is the centerpiece of whatever package we’re giving up.
  15. Kopech is as good as gone IMO, let’s just hope we landed a controllable young stud in return
  16. Those are all good points and Clevinger is a much better fit for 2020 to 2022 than Kopech.
  17. Especially when he feels “compelled” to write a full article on it.
  18. Not sure how I would feel about such a trade to be honest, but that deal really helps us this year and for the next two. It would definitely put a lot of pressure on Crotchett and/or Kelley to develop into TOR starters as we’d lose Clevinger after the 2022 season & Giolito after the 2023 season. I’d definitely prefer if you can get him a quantity based package, but that remains to be seen.
  19. He’s got like a 130 wRC+ / 1.2 fWAR on the year and has an option for 2021 at $12.5M. Unless the economic situation impacts things (which is possible) I don’t think he comes cheap.
  20. I don’t think we have the prospect currency to add a legit TOR and Marte without really hurting ourselves long-term.
  21. The Indians & Sox being tied for 1st place at the deadline and making a blockbuster trade would be historic. I still think the Clevinger rumor is a plant to drive leverage for some other deal, but man would it be crazy if it actually went down.
