  1. I’d adding four legit lineman this offseason. Potential long-term LT like Banks at #10, an interior line prospect with one of my 2nd round picks, and two interior lineman who are of the starting caliber in free agency. Ideally, one of those free agents is a legit stud who can actually anchor the line like Smith. That leaves some resource for the D-Line plus depth moves elsewhere. WR in particular is going to need some investment as we don’t really have a #3 at the moment. I know Johnson loves to use his RBs, but I think you can find a cheap alternative there. Would help if Cunningham could land the Jaguars’ GM job and get us an extra 3rd.
  2. Exactly my point. Not every target is going to hit obviously, but this dude could barely crack a blackhole in RF and now is gone a season later. No idea what they saw in him while with Seattle’s AAA team that changed so suddenly.
  3. I will say that I remain greatly concerned about Gene Watson leading our pro scouting group and this doesn’t make me feel any better.
  4. They are only getting two first round picks (only one more than us!), so not sure how much you think is going towards Fox and how much is to “absorb Zach”. The reality is Zach is a key part of Sacramento’s return, which is somehow worse than what the Bulls are getting IMO.
  5. The lack of a long-term plan is just astounding. I have more hope in the White Sox righting the ship than I do the Bulls. Michael Reinsdorf is just an absolute boob and this front office is an absolute joke.
  6. None of this will impact Jerry…that’s definitely true. But fans have every right to prioritize their limited entertainment dollars as they see fit. And right now, the Sox aren’t putting a product on the field that’s going to excite the fanbase. If fans want to voice their displeasure through their wallets then more power to them. I went to Sox Fest, I will go to four or five games, I will watch the team most days for the first couple months…but I ain’t committing to anything more than that until they give me good reason to. And I can assure you that I live & die for this wretched franchise and if anyone tries to tell me otherwise because my interest is currently at all time low then I will them to go F themselves.
  7. lol…glad you are the authority of who is and isn’t a White Sox fan.
  8. If you want to know how far we have to go, the worst team in baseball history has the 2nd best farm system behind the World Series champions…
  9. Oh I fully agree, just saying Crawford would be enough for me to do a deal if I were Getz.
  10. Thorpe not eligible for this list and he was the centerpiece. Honestly, there is still time for that trade to pay off, but they need one sure fire contributor out of it and it can’t just be Iriarte as a setup guy. Either Thorpe has to come back healthy with a bit more velocity than we saw and make his fastball less hittable or Iriarte has to correct his fastball shape and get his K rate back in check or Zavala has to fix his swing / approach and be a dude who can make some contract and impact a baseball.
  11. I would 100% take Crawford right now. Sounds like The Phillies wouldn’t do it, but if they had some balls and actually want to beat the Dodgers in the post season they should swing for the fences with a Robert trade.
  12. I agree. Not having CHSN on major platforms is likely killing them. We made a significant amount of money off our previous TV deal and can’t imagine OTA advertising money is coming in anywhere close to that amount.
  13. I think the lack of local TV deal provided meaningful revenue is also hurting. I’m actually surprised it’s not being brought up more often.
  14. That’s true, but I said if he rebounds. Obviously that’s a big wild card, but the point is there is zero reason to dump him now when the market conditions will be incredibly favorable 12 months from now. He’s an easy hold IMO because you simply buy him out or more likely dump him for pennies at the deadline.
  15. Valuation has nothing to do with past operating earnings / losses.
  16. There is zero chance we are that hard up for cash with a $60 payroll. Don’t get me wrong, I get the feeling Jerry is going cheaper than usual to offset any losses he incurred last year, but zero reason to believe he’d have to move additional salary to get there. If they are desperate to move Robert, it’s because they’re worried he won’t return much come July. I don’t buy that either, but it’s at least theoretically possible.
  17. You were literally suggesting we commit $80M+ to Santander plus give up the top pick of the 2nd round and $500k in international slot because of how bad you viewed the OF market next year. Sounds like with any form of rebound, Robert should be an incredibly value trade chip a year from now.
  18. I’m holding Robert if him + cash isn’t enough to land Arroyo.
  19. How is he going to be a 3ish win player by July if he misses two to three months like you just said?
  20. @Sambuca - How was SoxFest for you and your boy?
  21. No idea where to put this, but Vargas looked noticeably thicker on Friday night when they introduced all the players. It was the one thing that caught my eye and I saw Sox Machine comment on it as well. That obviously doesn’t impact if or where he should play defensively, but the added muscle should hopefully help with the bat and provide some reason for optimism.
  22. Would be a pretty awesome staff IMO. Are the Bears keeping Hightower as their special teams coordinator?
