  1. Nicky isn’t a 0.9 fWAR player if he plays SS everyday so I’m not sure I get the comparison
  2. The only problem for the Bulls is the Reinsdorf’s will never be removed. That will be their bread & butter for the foreseeable future. At least the White Sox will be freed of this torture within the next 10 years.
  3. I just can’t stop thinking about how incompetent AKME really is. There is a Joe Cowley article that says AK’s presser was just GM speak and he has a real plan and sense of urgency behind the scenes, but actions speak louder than words and these fucks don’t deserve the benefit of the doubt until we change is made.
  4. Pretty sure Getz cooled the jets recently on Colson.
  5. I think Colson starts at AAA unless he’s dominant throughout spring training and makes it hard for Chris to send him down. Same applies to Ramos. Personally, I think Baldwin competes against Amaya for the starting SS job. Sosa competes against Meidroth for the 2B job. Rojas is handed the 3B job baring a surprise. And then reinforcements come up from AAA around June and everything potentially changes.
  6. Ramos a liability at 3B? Haven’t heard anything bad about his defense. Regardless, I don’t see him being the OD 3B…that will almost certainly be Rojas to start the year.
  7. My bad…I knew you were involved in the discussion, but clearly got your message wrong.
  8. These guys are legit the worst front office in the sport. Absolute imbeciles if they actually believe that a viable strategy.
  9. Is this confirmed or just looking this way? But if no moves are announced in the next 20 minutes or so, they should be immediately relieved of their duties. They literally have no plan and will likely continue just winging it into perpetual NBA hell. It’s a shame Michael Reinsdorf is completely & utterly useless.
  10. I think Balta may have made this claim…regardless, I don’t like when people use board generalizations when it was literally one dude who said something dumb. Almost all of us knew Alonso was going be capped, people just didn’t want to give up a pick for him.
  11. I’m not suggesting we sign him, my point was more that signing him right now was the definition of insanity and that’s even more true because if we really want him we can wait a year and not be penalized.
  12. Who said he would get a Prince Fielder contract? The only thing I recall was you saying you’d be ok giving him close to that amount.
  13. Yes, obviously you still need good luck in the lottery, but at the end of the day you need stars and those are hard to get when you pick 7th every year.
  14. He’s a potential free agent option a year from and won’t cost us a draft pick or international slot.
  15. The Lonzo deal is fine in isolation, but definitely concerned now thst AKME have no interest in tanking.
  16. One of the main insiders here has been suggesting fair value could be Robert + prospects for Lux…this certainly proves the floor right now is much higher.
  17. Even though I’m not super high on him, I will say it’s nice to see that the Reds were willing to include Arroyo in a Robert trade vs. this idea he basically has little to no value.
  18. Just think he’s a lower ceiling guy and I’d rather aim a bit higher given we’re just kicking off a rebuild. And yes, I’m aware that Crawford slaps the ball a lot and the defense hasn’t come together just yet, but I feel if it all clicks he’s a more impactful player than Arroyo.
  19. I totally get the concerns with Crawford and maybe his profile is too risky to be the sole return for Robert, but I’d much rather have him than something built around Arroyo.
  20. Apparently they are worried that Doncic is fat, lazy, and possibly an alcoholic, which means he may not age well and is a potential risky investment when at a super max cost. They also didn’t really negotiate with anyone else and allowed the Lakers GM to drive the cost down by embracing their fears. Seems like the Mavs’ GM simply overthought things and made what is likely a really bad trade.
