  1. Or language to avoid an immediate tax consequence.
  2. What massive debt could the White Sox possibly have? Hopefully all those Trajekt machines didn’t set your buddy Jerry back too much.
  3. That should have had no bearing on a transaction as he would have been buying the team on a cash-free, debt-free basis.
  4. The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was conning the world he didn’t exist…
  5. Awesome! Glad Jerry’s debt is getting paid down!
  6. Why does this matter? A big market club will 100% take a flier on him if the prospect cost is little to nothing. Won’t help us, but doesn’t change the reality of the situation.
  7. Someone will happily take on his salary…let’s get crazy here.
  8. Not sure about that, but the elite power and speed is still there. His issues are theoretically fixable…obviously we will have to wait and see.
  9. Those guys mostly fell off due to health…Robert’s elite tools are still very much present.
  10. I would like to apologize to @JUSTgottaBELIEVE. Robert is a fucking headcase and despite having all the tools and taking some steps in the right direction, he can’t seem to put it altogether. I remain adamant that as soon as we trade him, the other org will immediately figure out how to fix him and reap the rewards of a massive buy low. But alas, that won’t help us now in terms of trade value.
  11. Signing Thaiss was never about the prospect return. He was about buying time until the young catchers were ready and marginally improving the quality of the club while here. I haven’t been able to watch him much so his defense could be terrible, but offensively he was a fantastic addition. We have failed miserably in the past with these bargain bin signings, but so far it appears the pro scouting has been a bit better lately on these type of additions.
  12. I still think he’s got some trade value because a compentant org probably thinks they can fix him, but he’s certainly not making it easy on us with his peformance.
  13. I refuse to pay for the steaming network given how bad all the teams are. I did buy an antenna to hopefully watch some games, but the on air stream quality is terrible for me. Hoping it eventually gets added to YouTube TV, but that may be wishful thinking.
  14. Also, thank fucking god Vaughn’s ass has been demoted. Two years too late, but hopefully I never have to see him again in a Sox uniform (if I’m ever able to watch a Sox game again this year).
  15. Hasn’t been playing well there for the most part? If so, makes no sense to move him off the position.
  16. Who is everyone mad at? Trying to follow along through the box score, but must have missed some big f*** ups.
  17. Embarrassing we still can’t spend all our international bonus pool money. The entire org is a fucking joke.
  18. Or can try to build a team but add a couple stars in free agency. And when the Ishbia’s take over, they will be one of the richest ownership groups in baseball and will be able to make some bold splashes.
  19. The Sox aren’t a revenue receiving team, so pretty big difference there. But regardless, this s%*# shouldn’t be allowed. I’m all for the big market clubs subsidizing the small market clubs if there isn’t a hard salary cap, but those dollars need to be reinvested into the org and not lining the owner’s pockets.
  20. Well thankfully trades are only based on the fWAR of players for like 40 games and nothing else.
  21. I mean, Robert’s career .203 ISO would rank 40th overall amongst qualified hitters right now and his .278 ISO in 2023 would rank 14th this year. You may think his 2023 ISO is flukey, but we’re talking about a guy with 92% percentile bat speed and 97% percentile Max EV. The dude is a legit power hitter who just happens to play CF. His game power may not always be super elite, but let’s not pretend he’s not well above average overall.
  22. We aren’t dealing with a reasonable person unfortunately. Robert certainly has his flows, but if somebody feels power is one of them then they are an objective person.
