Another couple good starts for Hagen and he starts to enter the major league roster discussion IMO.

It was mentioned in his last start that the FB was sitting at around 92. If he has to dial it back that much just to have some decent command then it's going to be a big problem in the majors.

Mason Adams with 4 K’s and 0 BB’s…also has given up 4 hits including a HR though

Unless he also has elite movement on it. I have no idea what those numbers say though.

I think his stuff plays up because of deception moreso than big time movement.

Hagen Smith with 5 SOs through 2. Also has 2 walks, 1 hit and 46 pitches (only 25 strikes) Dude can barely make it 4 innings.

Braden 1-1 with a BB. Guy is on a heater lately.

People keep telling me Hagen needs to be in MLB but it takes an act of Congress for him to pitch 5 innings and he doesn't even throw hard anymore. I'm also worried about how things would go for him if he had to face an MLB lineup without a handful of lefties in it. A lot of these outings give a feel of just waiting to get to the next lefty.

Hagen’s velo has been better today FWIW. Touched 96 in the 4th.

8ks through 4 for Smith

Hagen just finished his day on a 96 mph fastball up and away for a strikeout to a righty.

Not sure his line but 0 runs.

The Durham broadcast really advocating for Hagen to get the call lol

Seemed like his pitch count today was ~90, which is interesting.

Ended up at 92 after 4.2 IP. 9 K, 4 H, 3 BB, no runs.

Slider was nasty today, 77% whiff rate.

Seemed like he was pacing himself with the fastball velo. Ramped it up as he went instead of fading out late, average was higher in his last inning than in his first.

Too many walks. He will struggle in MLB unless his command gets better.

Do you have league pass or were you just watching highlights/reading about it? In interested how his stuff looked. Evidently good enough to get 9 Ks.

4.2 with 3 hits no runs 3bb (2 in the first 3 batters) 9K. I just don’t see what everyone is complaining about. I get it, they passed up Konnor Griffin to draft him, but Hagen is trending in the right direction. Personally, I am cautiously optimistic.

One of those early walks was fringy too. Lee challenged a close pitch and lost, so he didn't challenge ball 4 later in the AB which I thought got the zone in real time.

Closest to ready that he's looked in a bit to me (though I still wouldn't rush it)

Bonemer 2-4 with a HR, 2B, BB and most importantly - no walks. He's been striking out less this last month (24%) but his hitting stats are all down during the month.

Call him up!

I was just following along on Gameday. I know his velo towards the end of his starts has been a topic of conversation so I was keeping an eye on it.
