If Putz does really well in ST and this year could he be looked upon as a closer candidate? After all Jenks is going to be expensive again this year and I don´t know that he will be worth another round of arb unless he really has a kickbutt year. I am not sure eventhough he has lost some weight. I see him in decline this year, just me.
If Contreras injury was of this nature and his surgery was as you explain that would be why hisrecovery was so quick, plus his outstanding conditioning.
WSF, OT but when I read that I couldn´t help but remember Michael Jordan. That statement epitimizes what Jordan stood for and how JR paid him what he was due because he was truly the best in the world.
Not disputing that at all, just that the element of true pure baseball as we used to know it has pretty much evaporated and now what sells is the entertainment value. I know full well those other sports revolve around money now. And you are right he deserves his part of the pie. I just lament that everything has become too commercial. Natural evolution as you say I guess. We may face the same situation with Beckham in 6 years (Albeit he is not homegrown he will probably grow to be the face of the franchise at some point).
Man, I know it is only ST but Nunez is suffering major suckage. His ERA is 27.00 now. Hope he turns it around. Thurderbolt have you seen Nunez pitch yet? Any cmments?
I am no expert Danman so just askin for anyone´s opinion. If the tendon is artificially reattached does that make it more susecptable to re-injury? This really really bites. The kid has so many tools.
Damn!! Now I feel really bad for posting it because I thought I had overreacted with the initial thread title all. Really sorry about that. This kid was having such a good ST getting ready for MILB. I really feel bad.
Unfortunately I can´t change. If you want to change be my guest. I just provided the info I saw with a link. It stated he had been carted off and that normally means something serious enough that you cannot walk off the field on your own.
Jared Mitchell went down hard after robbing an Angel of a home run and apparently has hurt his ankle and had to be carted off the field. Anyone know anything at all? Get well soon Jared man!! We are gonna need ya in the future!!
I think so too and the other reality is that he would never consider coming here in FA (maybe??) and the Twinkies would never deal him to us (Intra Division plus nasty rivalry) without asking for Beckham, Peavy, Buerhle, Danks 1 and 2, Floyd, etc.
OK, my bad. Nobody really expects Mauer to leave as one of the faces of the Twinkies. I just posted because they have pulled the trigger once before when they thought they could not get it done with Santana. Interesting nonetheless.
I think Mauer has been an outstandng hitter but his injuries are a cause for concern. You are right that the Yankees are probably the only team who would pony up 23-25 million but still I don't see him behind the plate for many years with that back injury from last year.
