  1. Throw out the 2 Buerhle wins (The gem on Opening Day and the last victory) and we are really sucking wind at 2-9. I am not panicking yet but the offense as noted has been the absolutely lame and horrible. At least (And this had me on suicide watch last year!!) no shut outs to AA/AAA rejects although being swept by the Tribe and ehtir last place club in any other division and 1-5 against them so far is pathetic. I hope we turn the offense around.
  2. Hopefully there will be deals to be had at the All Star break for a power lefty at. GO SOX!!!
  3. I agree, I just don´t see it at all. He can keep imploding on the north side.
  4. Did anyone see Thorton´s velocity? Was it low 90´s or mid to high 90´s?
  5. I hope he finishes with a .275-.280 BA and about a .365-375 OBP.
  6. Let´s just hope Alex Rios has a consistant year offensively.
  7. I think the other part of the bravado they try to live up to is sometimes not realistic. He promised he would perform like an Ace this year in top form but the jury is still out on that one. Also like Dempster almost guranteeing a WS appearance. I could be wrong but the some Sox players have made bold predictions but I wonder if this is only to appeal to fans or if they really believe it.
  8. J4L, maybe not going that far is true but man when he loses it nobody can reach him at all. Granted on his very good days he has really nasty stuff (Evidenced by the nono against the Stros in late 08) but when he is a headcase he is his own worse enemy and almost a guraranteed loss for the Flubbies (Not that I care much) but just sayin. And his bad moments have by far outnumbered his good ones since the middle of 08 (Save his nono and some occasional quality starts). You are spot on in saying he is definitely not Ace material and a strong number 3 when on his game. They just had no one else to had the mantle to and since Hendry was just handing out those fat contracts who better than Z to give one to he must have thought. Hendry is definitely on his last leg now and on a short leash. I think he gets canned in they don´t do anything this year. But they have a lot of holes.
  9. Was gonna start a Big Z post but will keep it here. He is turning out to be a mental bust and I wonder if even Silva will outperform him this year. Dunno gotta wait and see but he is getting lit up now for almost 2 years. I think he is almost in bust territory. They gotta pay him for years and years, totally hilarious.
  10. Was she in attendance? I know this is off the mark but she has been the face of the frnachise entertainmentwise now for almost 4 decades. They gotta give her a tribute or a day of some kind. Have they am I retarded?
  11. OT, but is patrolling CF that much harder because you have more real esate to cover? I mean with LF/RF you gotta worry about those funny corner bounces, the walls and in CF it is pretty much open field except for warning track and fence/wall. Unless you have something like that ridiculous mound in the Astros park.
  12. From Fangraphs: Link: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/index.php/white-sox-stea-rios Rios is having a down year defensively according to UZR (-.7) but in the last three seasons in right field he’s been one of the best defensive outfielders in the game – +15.5 last season, +9 the two seasons prior to that. The Fielding Bible also gives him high marks — +43 plays over the last three years, the 3rd highest total for right fielders behind Franklin Gutierrez and Randy Winn. He has been good to superb in right field, so I think it’s safe to say Rios will at least be average patrolling center in the Cell. His most similar fielders in the Scouting Report by the Fans is littered with center fielders. Since he has been in RF I think patrolling CF should not be too difficult should it? I mean I read yesterday that he takes really good routes to the ball and gets good jumps.
  13. How would we rank Rios as a CF in the AL, MLB?
  14. Westbrook up to 71 pitches already. Hopefully he is done by end of 5th. AJ takes 2nd on that bobbled pitch. Good base running today.
  15. Nice opposite field basehit by AJ on a down and away sinker, good job AJ!!
  16. First Noodle Arm sighting of the season, Pierre noodled it back into the infield after catching that pop fly. Noodle alert, Noodle alert!! :lolhitting
  17. Ignore my AGon posts and a serious question. Is Cust the type of bat Walker can maybe tweak to lower the K rate or is he too far gone in his swinging tendancies that he is a lost cause?
  18. Great work DanMan, I really enjoy the stuff you guys put up and develop at FutureSox.com. Keep up the great work.
  19. JPN, I wish your son a speedy recovery and you all the best. No need to explain man, in reality family comes first.
  20. He mentions he gets along with Greg Walker and they sometimes mention hitting issues to eah other. Anyone think he will ever be a hitting coach of any kind for the team? Minor Leagues or the Bigs?
  21. This would be very koolio if chat were up.
