  1. We both had our foot on the gas pedal, you just stepped on it first.
  2. Gavin - Sale - CQ - Santos mopping up - Enough offense -
  3. Bruney to be DFA's per MGon. Link: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,4971166.story By Mark Gonzales Tribune reporter 10:09 p.m. CDT, August 5, 2011 MINNEAPOLIS - Pitcher Zach Stewart, who was acquired July 27 as part of a four-player trade with Toronto, will be promoted from Triple-A Charlotte and make his Chicago White Sox debut Saturday night at Minnesota. Stewart, 24, was 0-1 with a 4.86 ERA in three starts for Toronto last month. He pitched last Sunday for Charlotte, allowing three runs on 10 hits in 6 1/3 innings. "So far I've felt very comfortable," Stewart said Thursday, one day before he was promoted. "I've gone over a few things with Dot (Charlotte pitching coach Richard Dotson), but no one is trying to change me. They've given me some ideas, but no drastic changes." After the trade was made, general manager Ken Williams hinted that Stewart, a third-round pick of Cincinnati in 2008, could be promoted by the end of the 2011 season. Jake Peavy was moved back to start Sunday's game. Reliever Brian Bruney, who had allowed 11 runs in his past four appearances, was designated for assignment.
  4. Is is it worth the wait or too little too late? I don't think he will make much of a difference to be honest. I thought the last line quoting him was hilarious. Link: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,7117824.story MINNEAPOLIS — Alex Rios said he's started the process of revamping his batting stance in an effort to resurrect his production. Rios, who didn't start for the White Sox on Friday night for the second consecutive game, said he has moved his hands away from the middle of his body and said he will continue this if he feels aggressive and comfortable. This is the start of a process that Rios hopes won't require the entire offseason to get comfortable with. "I want to get a super simple stance where I don't have to be thinking too much about my mechanics," said Rios, who is batting .207 in 102 games. "So that's my goal for this offseason." Rios said he has watched other hitters to form some ideas about what stance might work best for him. "Sometimes I look at some of the players and tell myself, 'I'd like to hit like that because it looks so simple," Rios said. "But at the end of the day, it's what feels more comfortable to me. So I'm going to try a few things in the offseason and see what works best." Rios' biggest issue has been attacking the ball quicker and hitting with authority. "If I feel something's right, I can pick it up very quickly,'' Rios said.
  5. Dunno what to say about Dunn, but would rather see Rios retire.
  6. The pattern literally repeats itself for us over and over and over again.
  7. Me thinks the yanks are getting some insurance runs maybe. Not that they really need it.
  8. Nova absolulely crushed us tonight, nothing new though.
  9. Just think, there is a chance we get a top 10 draft pick for our great farm system, oh.............. Never Mind. :lolhitting
  10. DS, actually which 3rd pitch are you referring too. 2 scouting reports I read seem to indicate he has 3 plus pitches, FB, Slider, and Change.
  11. What are your thoughts about not only Addison being a future closer or set up man but does he have starter stuff? I know he has electric K/9 ratio but what are his mechanics like and does he have the endurance to go a full season as a starter? We now have 2 high draft choices with Bullpen attached to them (Sale already there).
  12. I gotta ask the obvious hilarious question now, are we worse off than the Flubs now as an organization? That would be really bad.
  13. WOW another example of 2 out magic, a HR, 2 walks, and a hit with RISP. Just not the SOX.
  14. Does KW have hendry on his speed dial? :lolhitting
  15. As August rolls into September for the final month of this agony (If and only if this happens where we continue to be a bucket of suck offensively) will we be reviving the Dunn retire thread and hope to God Rios is put on waivers?
  16. Like it or not folks, it now looks like we are stuck with Labatomy Larry's managerial decisions no matter how much the evidence says otherwise. Terrible hitting and nothing with RISP. And I expect something balistic from KW any day since his son isn't starting at AA.
  17. What to do? They went on this spending spree when in hindsight they probably knew or could at least fathom that we would be mired in this continuous OPS "Purgatory or Hell", whicever you want to call it. The other facets of the team have seemingly done well up until now with occasional streaks of bad performance. I mean Starting Pitching, Long/Middle/Short relief, closing, and defense. But the lack of plain hitting and then hitting with RISP has really cost us in several games which could leterally mean a 8-10 game difference in the standings. My point is now the collective managment need to grow a pair and tell us fans collectively what strategy is now on the roadmap because whatever they are peddling we ain´t buying anymore as evidenced by lower attendance numbers. What can we do to replace "All In" with something believeable and digestable if we are in fact staying with this lame "Status Quo" set of coaches, GM, and players and doing nothing? I mean obviously this marketing surelt doesn´t fit the product on the field, does it? I am trying to look at from the marketing aspect and what we have been sold. Comments?
  18. Geez Loiuse!! Forgot to add at the beginning of the post (May not make a whole lot of difference but maybe it does). CC may opt out leaving the Yanks with a big hole. While Danksie is not in his league it gives them a bonafide number 2/3 starter to ponder if it ever goes that way. More of my 2 cents.
  19. Personally I think the Braves have better prospects now (Pitching wise anyway) and would rather deal with them.
  20. No new tweets on Danks today, this one may be just that (speculation).
  21. You mean it was boner city?? :lolhitting :lolhitting
  22. Only tweet I can find on Twitter is the Brewers sending a catching prospect to the Braves for cash considerations. Anyone else most up to date info?
  23. Honestly I wouldn't put it past KW to try and peddle off Rios with either Danks or CQ. It is probably the only way teams will even listen, but we gotta lower the demand and eat some salary.
