I wasn´t really expecting a snowball´s chance in hell this would ever happen but maybe in the next CBA there should be a new clause for guaranteed contracts that gives the team the right to re-negotiate or cut players without having to pay. I mean it should be fair just like we have regular evalutaions of our work. I hope he turns it around but it´s not looking good.

If he completely and utterly tanks this season he should be a decent person and void this contract for his sake and the fans.

Man, Danks is just getting slaughtered. We are witnessing a very long regression for Danks. He is pitching hismself out of a hefty pay day with each terrible outing. I can´t recall a pitcher with great promise just implode like this. Not from one year to the next when still trying to set himself up for the FA market anyway.

Well Dunn K´d again and Romero has just found his stuff. We are probably DOOMED, again. This has the makings of a very long season.

I am trying real hard to be fair with this contract but maybe he just won't snap out of it and be a bust. Then you gotta shop around and see if someone will take on the contract but we will have to eat some major salary.

Well I guess a fair way to look at this (And one theme that has been common on this board) is to see where the team is and headed around the 1st week of June. Since Dunn's success is intrinsically tied to the team and vice versa we will know for sure what kind of stats he is on course to achieve (Not to mention where the team is in the standings and how much ground they have gained/lost) by this time frame. Sure hope the Sox and Dunn have a monster road trip.

The other angle on this is that if Dunn does not snap out of it we screwed the pooch by giving up 2 draft picks. That will hurt too.

Greg, not sure (bein real) if any team will take Dunn unless we eat some salary which would not be a total loss. If (which is highly likely) he keeps putting up big fat retarded goose eggs at the plate til early June then dealing him is a no brainer. I would deal both Danks and Jackson and try and get something back. Don't think we will be able to afford jackson even if we wanted to. Danks looks like he may just run out of here if we keep up this mess of no run support. But I gotta believe this won't work unless we make some major changes. If we nose dive on this road trip then our fate should be sealed.

I agree, I'd like Becks to hit a few more games with consistancy before we decalre him off life support.

It really is sad when their 2 injured hitters come right back off the DL and start producing right away (Cruz and Hamilton). Dunn came off the DL and has gone completely south. I know it is apples and oranges but man how bad can Dunn get?

Rowand, was it you or one of the other mods who said that DV has excellent bat speed?

If they dangle CQ and DV continues to rake and get better defensively then it is a no brainer to bring him. Anyone know where on MILB we can get defensive stats? Just curious to see how DV has done defensively in the outfield?

TBH, I agree with Greg in as much as we have a long way to go and would have called for Ozzie´s head during that brutal stretch not 2-3 weeks ago. But taking it one series at a time is the way to go. If Dunn can somehow get it going we should be competing in every series.
