POLL:Gordo, is he breaking out of that season long slump?
chisoxfan09 replied to chisoxfan09's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Wow, this sure digressed into another Fire Walker thread. I get all the points but I was hoping just to keep it fun and concentrate on Gordo's stat line for the year. Oh well at least I tried. -
Sox are now League Leaders in Fielding PCTG with a .988 Average!!! Gordo and AJ have the best %'s. Also 12th in ERA with a 3.79 AVG. I can see us dropping that to about 3.5ish and winding up in the top 10.

The Baconator is heating up, watch up!!

Yup and 2 were in a 2 out RISP situation for Becks. Just poseted a fun poll to check out on his projected 2nd half stat line. Have fun!!

What has changed for Gordo? See numbers below: 07/02/2011 @CHC 2 1 1 0 0 1 0 0 .239 A 2011/07/02/chamlb-chnmlb-1 R 07/03/2011 @CHC 2 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 .241 A 2011/07/03/chamlb-chnmlb-1 R 07/04/2011 KC 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .238 H 2011/07/04/kcamlb-chamlb-1 R 07/05/2011 KC 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 .235 H 2011/07/05/kcamlb-chamlb-1 R 07/06/2011 KC 3 0 1 0 0 0 1 0 .236 H 2011/07/06/kcamlb-chamlb-1 R 07/07/2011 MIN 3 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 .241 H 2011/07/07/minmlb-chamlb-1 R 07/08/2011 MIN 4 0 1 0 1 0 2 0 .241 H 2011/07/08/minmlb-chamlb-1 R 07/09/2011 MIN 4 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 .241 H 2011/07/09/minmlb-chamlb-1 R 07/10/2011 MIN 4 0 2 0 1 0 0 0 .245 H 2011/07/10/minmlb-chamlb-1 R 07/15/2011 @DET 4 1 2 0 2 0 2 0 .248 A 2011/07/15/chamlb-detmlb-1 R TOTALS 33 2 11 0 4 1 5 0 .333 AB R H HR RBI BB SO SB BA It's only a 10 game stretch but has he started to break the habit of over thinking on his swings and is he now just being patient and letting his "natural" swing come through at the plate? Quick blurb from MLB White Sox Fantasy news: Beckham is quietly hitting .385 over his last dozen games and has collected six RBIs in that span. He had a tremendous second half last season (.877 OPS), so keep an eye on the talented 24-year-old, as he might have another surge in him for 2011. This would bite as he is having an ok year and what I would term as starting to turn it around. The other co-incidence is that DV is out of the lineup but that must be to do with his All Star appearance.
-
Based on this he still has 3 ARB years left.

Dan, has Flowers been to the show already? If so how much service time does he have?

Castro hit on hand, leaves game with broken hand
chisoxfan09 replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would not mind seeing what Flowers is capable of. He has a decent OBP in spite of all the K´s. -
The official "end of Ozzie soon?" thread

So in order to make focking lineups, do they have to hire the Fockers?? :lolhitting :lolhitting -
Tyler homers for Charlotte, he is having a decent July: AVG AB R H 2B 3B HR RBI BB SO SB CS OBP SLG OPS Totals .286 35 5 10 2 0 3 7 4 19 0 0 .390 .600 .990 K´s/BB´s ratio still uneven but all in all very prductive.

I got a little carried away on my comp thread but this is probably closer to the truth Dan. A Vlad lite would be awesome. But he has to learn to hit consistantly in the dominant league and keep the plate discipline growing.

WTF are we waiting for ? Call up Viciedo !
chisoxfan09 replied to macsandz's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I agree with this assessment Caul, i have not seen many prospects get better this quickwith so much upside. The last prospect that comes to mind (There could be others) was Hudson but his upside was not as high as DV. -

I can just see this coming, maybe not but with KW you never know. Trading our best prospect for a washed up veteran that will add absolutely no value. -
I just don't see JR firing KW. Some serious accountability would be nice. Heck JR wouldn't even fire Paxson during the brutal Bull's years.
-
LB, what kind of stuff does Heidenreich have? Is he a power pitcher or does he have average stuff and good control?

I am taking a guess for fun and predicting if DV gets to 500 PA's at Charlotte his stat line would be similar to this on the very basic stats: 1. 500 PA's 2. .330 BA 3. 28 HR's 4. 105 RBI's 5. .380 OBP 6. 100 K's/45 BB's Just for fun. Obviously I want him to come up to the show. -

I wonder if he can work his OBP up to .400? He is up to .372 with only 66K's in 339 PA's. -
And to back this up even more he has 7K's and 7 BB's in July!! And only 66 K's for the year in 339 PA's. Really gotten better in plate discipline.
-
We just never really got going. That mini streak where we just hit .500 is just about as good as it is gonna get. I don't see us even being an over .500 team to be honest. Not with this many issues. Rios will continue to be Rios and is a wash. Ain't nobody gonna eat that contract unless we take an equally bad contract back. Luck in MLB has run its course with the Blue Jays unloading their garbage contracts on us and the Angels (with Wells although I think they kicked in some cash or players). I don't think lightning in a bottle will strike again and we can unload Rios on somebody. If I am not mistaken the only thing we can do is put him through waivers and see if somebody nibbles. My hope would be some desperate NL team with a friendly hitter park (if that even exists). As far Dunn I read in another post someone mentioning him to retire. If we got so miraculously lucky at the end of the year and he finshed with an I dunno .175 BA do MLB rules allow us to get out of the contract if he retired? This one would be for Kalapse or someone like that who know some of the financial rules I think.

I have a quick question for the board. Why is Jhonny Nunez starting and only going 2 innings recently? He has an excellent K rate. Is he being groomed to start?
-
Even De Aza is putting up such good numbers it is deserving of a call up too.

I agree, being negative is a natural reaction to the poor quality of the product you are witnessing. The fact that the product is consistantly piss poor compunds the negativity. But being a fan of a team has varying degrees of intensity. I popped off yesterday and that is my rant for a while. I guess people look at the situtation differently which they have a right to.
