I was flipping around on the TV the other day and landed on the Big 10 network. It was the "Big 10's Greatest games" Michigan at Northwestern from November 4, 2000. Northwestern ending up winning the game 54-51 in a barnburner. Future Bear Anthony Thomas fumbled in the last two minutes with Michigan up and trying to run out the clock. Northwestern scored the go ahead touchdown and 2 pointer with around 30 seconds. Even though, at the time I was a huge Michigan fan I will always remember how exciting the back and forth scoring of that game was. It was a surprise gift from my dad with seats in the fourth row on the 10 yardline. It couldn't have turned out any better. Here's a recap of the game if anyone is interested Michigan vs. Northwestern Nov. 4, 2000

MARK BUEHRLE PITCHES THE 18TH PERFECT GAME IN HISTORY
bigklita replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The first I heard of it yesterday came at work when a co-worker, who is a Cub fan, came up to me and said that he had a perfect game going into the 9th. I immediately ran to the break room to look at my phone. I looked at it and there was a text there that read "I'm sure your working, but if you can get to a TV/radio to see the Sox game. I took my phone to the stock room so I could look at the game progress on my phone. The first time it refreshed it actually said "Gabe Kapler doubles to centerfielder Dewanye Wise" I thought to myself oh well still a great game by Mark and a win. Then it refreshed again and it said "Gabe Kapler flies out to centerfielder Dewayne Wise." It was the coolest thing I ever saw. The game ended soon after that and I get a text from my brother who is a BIG Cubs fan that says "WOW!!! MARK BUEHRLE JUST PITCHED A PERFECT GAME!!" What a great day. Congrats Mark and lets keep the winning going. -

I forgot Opening Day 2006 with the raising of the Banner, just enjoying the game with my dad, long rain delay, and a Thome blast in the rain.

It had to have been April or May 2004 because it was my senior year and a bunch of us skipped school to see it.

I saw Public Enemies tonight and I thought it was excellent. Bale and Depp were both very good. I love movies set in that time era and they did a great job with this one. BTW Bones I rewatched "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" last night just because of your sig. I forgot just how great all the performances in that movie were.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) Anyone else plan to see Public Enemies? I'm going to see it tonight. Part of it was film in the Paramount Theatre here in Aurora which is cool. I remember when they were filming it and everyone was going crazy the Johnny Depp was here. In fact, one of the clips thats on Yahoo right now shows him sitting in the theatre,

The Cougars are great. It is an awesome atmosphere especially for little kids. There's always something to keep them entertained. They draw around 8-10 thousand, so they do very well. They also just renovated the stadium and added some suites this year. I've been going there since I was a little kid and yes it is free parking as well.

QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 10:07 PM) I'm heading to the Metrodome with my Twinkie fan Dad and Aunt in a few weeks here. Not sure which game(s) yet. The Metrodome is by far the worst place to watch a baseball game be played, not to mention we tend to not do so hot up there either. It will be good next year when the Twins will actually play in a stadium designed for baseball and I look forward to going to game up there again. I've also been to Detroit and Milwaukee (County Stadium and Miller Park) to see the Sox play and it is always awesome to go into an opponents park and hopefully get a win and in most cases enjoy some verbal jabbing with the locals. When we went to Detroit it was the same week that Ben Wallace signed with the Bulls and my buddy and I were giving it to the Detroit fans about how this was gonna put us over the top. Boy did that backfire.

I went to the game on Thursday against the Dodgers because it was my cousin's birthday and he wanted to go with me, his brother, and my brother. If it wasn't for this I probably wouldn't have went because the ticket was $46 when I've gone to games in the same exact seat for $32. I would much rather go to a cheaper game even though it might be against a "lesser" opponent. Who cares that the Dodgers have the best team in baseball? Is it worth an extra $14 a ticket? Not for a college kid on a budget. All I know is that I GO TO GAMES. That's all that matters to me. That's what I tell all the Cubs fans who bring this stuff up. I go to about 8-10 games a year. I don't need there to be a sellout at the game for me to be happy. I go to enjoy baseball and hopefully a Sox victory everytime I go to the park.

I work at Nike Factory Store here in Aurora and I can give you plenty of dumb questions everyday a few of my favorites are: Do you sell (Adidas, Reebok, Under Armor, or pretty much any other athletic shoe company)? Seriously, how do you not get that we only sell Nike's at the Nike Factory Store. My all time favorite: What size shoe does a (4 year old, 5year old,6 year old, or any age) wear? I don't know how big the kid your buying for is. There is no set chart that says if your 5 you wear a certain size. Then most of the time they ask me to estimate and I tell them that I would be as good at guessing as they would. I'll list more if I can think of any, I haven't gotten any really good ones recently from any customer.
