  1. I just got out of a meeting at work. About 40 mins ago, everyone in the conference room started floating, like the hotel scene in Inception. What the hell is going on?
  2. QUOTE (SouthSidePride05 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 07:41 PM) Do fans at Wrigley do the wave? The crowds at the Cell have been downright embarrassing. It's like when the stadium gets more than 30,000 fans, they don't know how to handle it, they get all giddy and start the wave.. Then there's the fights in the UD.. But what's bugging me the most is how lame the crowds have been. The fans are so f***ing lethargic. It looks like half the crowd are zombies. Whenever I happen to catch a Cubs game on tv, I notice how those fans are alive. Whenever there's a big pitch, the entire crowd rises to their feet in unison.. within 2 seconds. I've never seen that at the Cell. It takes 45 seconds for half the crowd to stand up. I know we rip on Cubs fans for acting like every game is a World Series game, but that's better than looking like a casual family softball game. I just wish every game was like that blackout game. The White Sox deserve more crowds like that! Dude..DO NOT compare us to Cub fans. Please.
  3. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 09:57 AM) I wish they were more aggressive in sending bad hitters down. Like who? Do you have someone in mind? I thought that Sale had bad mechanics or mechanics that would eventually cause an injury? Doesn't he need to work on this before he blows something out?
  4. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 09:52 AM) It auto re-sizes on its own. Patience my friend. Lol I know I'm just giving you a hard time I really hope that Jackson can go out and have an excellent start tomorrow against the Tigers and make the critics quiet down. Tipping his pitches is huge and it'll make a big difference.
  5. Chw42... your pic is too small. I can barely see it..
  6. QUOTE (Hawk09 @ Aug 3, 2010 -> 08:43 AM) Clearly, EJax's eyes lite up when he faces AL teams not named the Sox. He has gone 28-13 vs those teams the last three years. Hopefully, that gives him confidence going into Wed vs the Tigers, who he has done well against. If he can come thru, the Sox rotation can recover from a crushing blow losing Peavy. I was spying on a Twins fan forum and someone there mentioned that the Twins usually light up Jackson, so they were glad that the Sox traded for him. Jackson and Coop will have to straighten them out right away.
  7. QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 02:18 PM) Somebody over at another forum brought up the idea of Jason Bay for Jake Peavy. Both make a similar amount of money over the next couple of years, Bay has an extra year of obligation. Depending on how Jackson progresses, I wouldn't be all that against such a swap. I'd bet the farm that Jake Peavy would veto a trade to go play in New York for the Mets.
  8. If push came to shove I guess I would be okay with Hideki Matsui for the playoffs. He could heat up and repeat his World Series performance from last year.
  9. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) And slightly off topic but anyone else notice that Linebrink's last 8 or 9 starts have been pretty damn good? Could you imagine if he had one of those elite half seasons the rest of the way? At this point, I consider anything that the Sox get get out of Linebrink, other than mop up duty, to be a bonus. Hopefully he is able to contribute to the team in the run up to the playoffs.
  10. QUOTE (hawksox13 @ Aug 2, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) I don't see Coop being able to make an instant impact with Jackson. I think we'll see the biggest impact this off season and throughout spring training. It wouldn't surprise me one bit to see Jackson be very good next season, but I think it's expecting a lot for Jackson to come in, have one bullpen session with Coop, and then be lights out the rest of the season. I can't help but be very excited about next years rotation. Danks, Peavy, Buehlre, Floyd, and Jackson. Wow, that could be scary good. This. I wouldn't be all that upset if Coop didn't make dramatic changes to Jackson overnight, or even this season. I would STILL have more faith in Jackson than Hudson in a big game in the playoffs this year. This whole thing reminds me so much of Brandon McCarthy. I think Edwin Jackson is going to be a monster next year.
  11. People seem to overlook that Coop was supposedly salivating over the chance to get Jackson. Think about it: if you're Kenny, and Coop comes to you and tells you that he feels he knows Hudson's ceiling and Hudson won't be very helpful down the stretch, but he's confident that he can turn Jackson into a stud, what would you do? In Cooper I trust. In Kenny I trust
  12. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 07:52 PM) With a $13.5M commitment for next year when he'll be 34 and his mediocre offensive production, I'd say yes. Ah nevermind. I just looked up Fukudome's offensive numbers and he sucks.
  13. Would Fukudome make it through the waiver wire?
  14. Maybe Pierre needs to rest his legs? Off topic: Pierre is 205lbs?
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 01:09 PM) I love that range in CF. He looks like a gazelle out there.
  16. So if the Manny thing doesn't work then who else is there?
  17. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 05:22 PM) Hermida's available. So is Chan Ho Park. Do we have a use for him?
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Hopefully this is better info than his Lebron info. Now he's taking it back. f*** he got my hopes up.
  19. Holy s*** Jason Goff is saying that the Dunn deal might be announced shortly.
  20. Doesn't look like anything is gonna happen.
  21. QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:16 PM) question is would Minny do it if they're still in 2nd to block? Ha would Minny actually do that? Manny is like the exact opposite of the type of player the Twins like. But goodness... Put his bat with Mauer and Morneau's and holy hell. That would suck.
  22. QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:14 PM) Not everyone has it. f***ing AT&T U-Verse...
  23. Luke Scott and keeping Jackson would make me happy. ManRam worries me a little bit and Dunn seems to cost too much.
  24. QUOTE (rockren @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:25 PM) Meaning those factors/clubs are reasons we won't win it all this year. Like I said... put Dunn in the middle of that line up with Rios, Quentin and Konerko mashing plus throw in a resurgent Alexei and Beckham AND add a solid rotation and bullpen on top of that? I'll take my chances against the Yanks and the Phillies any day. 2005 says "hi" right back...
