QUOTE (knightni @ Aug 9, 2010 -> 07:27 AM) They'd have to bring up Lucy. Emergency catcher might be Lillibridge - according the Mark Gonzales. http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-07...s-ozzie-guillen Cool. Lilly could probably just stand there and catch instead of crouching. I kill me.

I think this "clubhouse chemistry" thing is so overrated. These are grown ass men, not little girl scouts. You know what boosts clubhouse chemistry? WINNING! You could have a team full of Jim Thomes and Paul Konerkos, and if they're losing, the chemistry wouldn't be the greatest.

Dammit... The Sox really need to start throwing at people. It doesn't matter if he was trying to hit Pierre or not. Opposing pitchers would start being more careful if their teammates started getting drilled.

Did Hawk just say that the fastest player he's seen down the first base line was Mickey Mantle?

Greinke very candid about frustration with Royals

Everybody keeps talking about how the Royals farm system is stacked. That scares the hell outta me. -
QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 11:32 AM) This just doesn't look like the Bosox's year. Especially now with Youk lost for the season, I don't see it happening. I feel really bad for the Boston Red Cubs.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 11:18 PM) I HATE YOU BASEBALL TONIGHT. Ravech: Mark Kotsay! He's the kind of play who helps you win divisions. Winfield: Yes he is. He doesn't play everyday but he can play first and the outfield and is very productive. Also, apparently we need to get our bullpen some help??? MLB Tonight on the MLB Network (which I STILL can't watch...Thanks AT&T UVerse) makes ESPN's Baseball Tonight look downright amateurish. I think more and more people are starting to realize that overall ESPN sucks now.

QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) Well, you know how we've been playing teams at the right time lately? Quite the opposite here as the Orioles are RED HOT, having won 3 games in a row. They've swept Texas, Boston, Washington and now the Angels this season, while losing pretty much every other game; I think never winning more than 4 in a row at any point. So with the new manager, this current stretch is in the running for their most inspired ball all year. Bergesen sucks against any team above average, but he did limit the Podsless Royals to 2 runs over 7 innings last time out; arguably one of his better starts all year. According to ESPN, 0% of people have him on their fantasy team. The only argument for them winning this game is the new Showalter effect; not skill, reputation or fundamentals. Eh... I ain't scared. The Showalter effect will eventually wear off.

I hope he isn't a bundle of nerves like Torres was against the Tigers. That was awful.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 6, 2010 -> 02:27 AM) Ozzie v. Buck Round 2 "[showalter] never even smelled a jock in the big leagues," Guillen says. "Mr. Baseball never even got a hit in Triple-A. I was a better player than him, I have more money than him and I'm better looking than him." LOL GTFO!! Did Ozzie really say this?

QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 02:57 PM) The good news is that Kotsay bats fourth for us next inning. All we need is one batter to get on base and he'll win the game for us. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Aug 5, 2010 -> 02:58 PM) I'm going to laugh my ass off when this happens for real. Laughing my ass off right now as we speak

I think we might have been hosed if Rizzo did take Jackson in a trade for Dunn. Who would have been the 5th guy in the rotation? I know Brett Myers was brought up, but who could the Sox have traded to Houston for him?
