So let’s say you do this trade for Mazara and if you bring in a piece like Castellanos or JD Martinez to be a DH type player where would that leave you with when it comes time for Vaughn to come up and you have to move Abreu to DH?

I get it. He is good at hitting vs right handed pitching and is a left handed hitter, but this is just such a Whitesox move, very frustrating to see mediocrity continue with these guys

If his role is a utility player then I’m okay with it but if he’s your everyday right fielder as of today/tomorrow when castellanos, Calhoun, and Ozuna are still out there this is a failure by management

Meant to say outside the Nationals. I still think they can get something down just more posturing for potential trades today. In my opinion they cannot afford to kick the can down the road, next offseason will be one year closer to having to fork out money to keep Moncada and free agency will have less pitching depth making trades even more significant if not done now. If you wait you are only shrinking your window to win. Yes, even if they add significant pieces this offseason they still might not be competitive enough this upcoming season but this rebuild is just about over guys, let’s get back to winning and get the team to understand how to win this season so they get ahead of this learning curve.

In my opinion that could also be the Whitesox trying to bump up some of the value of their prospects to say they are fine waiting on another offseason to try to get a pitcher in a trade. While it’s very frustrating, no other club made any moves yesterday either. Today could be a huge signal for what they will do the rest of these meetings.

To be fair what’s to gain from throwing names out there? I’m just as anxious as the next person but we saw what happened last offseason when there was info on the Joc Pederson deal out there. We are all whitesox fans but sometimes not knowing at the moment is better than all of their business being out on the street. Keep doing you WSD.
