  1. Figured I'd pull out some bits and pieces from Law's mock that I found interesting. - Has Martin at number 2 for Baltimore, but notes rumblings of taking Kjerstad at a discount. Also heard they won't go pitcher, so no Lacy. - Has the Royals taking Veen and notes they are cool on Gonzales. - Has the Pirates taking Gonzales noting that this is his floor. - Has the Sox selecting Bailey but notes "they want to take higher-ceiling high school guys later." - Has Abel as the first prep arm off the board at 18 with Arizona, but notes Bitsko is in consideration for the Giants at 13. - Kelley goes 23rd to Cleveland. Notes they favor prep arms who slip for non-performance reasons. Mentions that scouts were questioning his conditioning before the shutdown. - Unsure on Ginn's signability but has the Yankees selecting him at 28.
  2. The development of being in on prep bats and pitchers is much more interesting than what we've been hearing from the other mocks. I truly hope they go in this direction.

  4. BA mock. 1 to 11 below. 1.) DET - Torkelson 2.) BAL - Martin 3.) MIA - Lacy 4.) KC - Veen 5.) TOR - Gonzales 6.) SEA - Meyer 7.) PIT - Hancock 8.) SD - Hassell 9.) COL - Kjerstad 10.) ANA - Detmers 11.) CHW - Bailey https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/
  5. Longenhagan mock. Bailey goes before 11. More college bat suggestions. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/2020-mock-draft-mach-one/
  6. Thanks. This is fun. Some observations. You have Jarvis higher than most mocks I've seen. I like him a lot as well. You have Gonzales much lower. I suppose he might not have an immediate landing spot if KC passes on him? I know he has an archetype you typically haven't been enamored with. You also have Nick Loftin going pretty early. Just read a bit on him, sounds like he could be a pretty good value. Lastly, you have Mitchell further down than I have seen. This attributed to the diabetes? The in-game power profile? Or both? Bonus question. Where do you think Ginn goes and do you think he signs?
  7. The more I look at it, the more I'm underwhelmed at the college bats that should be available around pick 11. I truly hope they go in a different direction. I think I'd prefer any other direction than this.
  8. FWIW, Law had only one prep pitcher in the 1st round in his last mock. It was Abel.
  9. BA has some head to head draft prospect pieces up. Will share one of them. Abel vs Kelley. https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/mick-abel-vs-jared-kelley-2020-mlb-draft-prospect-showdown-rhp-rankings/
  10. Am I missing something? Why do people think that fans will even be allowed at the game?
  11. This is from February, but Longenhagan hasn't heard good things at least. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/eric-longenhagen-chat-2-21-20/
  12. I have to go Detmers. I'm much more risk averse than you are and tend to gravitate more towards floor. Between the two there are too many unknowns for me with Crochet. Give me the super polished lefty with solid offerings, great makeup, and the chance to be in a big league rotation in short order. Even if he tops out as "just" a mid rotation piece I'd be happy with the selection. A caveat. I think my answer would change to Crochet if the state of the system was a little different? There isn't enough pitching depth period. If there were one or two Detmers already in the system, I'm going for the ceiling guy at 11.
  13. @Harold's Leg Lift Straight up between the two, would you prefer Crochet or Cavalli?
  14. Bailey to Sox in Mayo's latest mock again.
  15. I think I would really like to see the White Sox get creative and try to nab an injured JT Ginn with a second round pick. Perhaps underslot a prep arm/Howard to free up some money for it. I'm normally more risk-averse, but I really love Ginn, and the fallback of a compensatory pick the following year if you don't sign him makes it an easier pill to swallow. Alas, this is more of a Washington Nationals move than a Chicago one.
  16. I think I'm in the camp of hoping one of that tier of college pitchers falls to 11. Reading Law's chat today though sure makes it sound like teams want to take the "certain" assets (college arms/bats) though.
  17. Bailey from Callis as well. https://www.mlb.com/news/2020-mlb-mock-draft-jim-callis-picks-1st-round
  18. New BA mock up as well. Bailey as well for the White Sox. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/mlb-mock-draft/
  19. Some more blurbs regarding players we've discussed as Sox targets or just of interest. Also worth noting he doesn't have Kelly in the 1st round.
