  1. Via Law Chat today.
  2. For those trying to distinguish/learn more about the prep hitters that we are hearing mentioned, will share some BA scouting reports. https://www.baseballamerica.com/rankings/2020-mlb-draft-top-prospects/ Austin Hendrick: Robert Hassell: Tyler Soderstrom: Ed Howard:
  3. I think I'm on the Hassell/Howard train for prep hitters. Though I wouldn't be disappointed in any of the prep bats that have been mentioned. The college bats that should be around for pick 11 are just underwhelming this year and it's time to restock the lower minors.
  4. Mayo mock. More Bailey. Zzz. https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-mock-draft-june-3?t=mlb-pipeline-coverage
  5. I wonder why Law doesn't have Crochet in the 1st round. I imagine he will address that in his next chat.
  6. Some more notes from Law's mock that stood out. - BAL is considering an underslot deal with Kjerstad to go overslot at pick 30. But if the Tigers go rogue, they will take Tork. - PIT has spent "a lot of time" on Abel and they don't want to go too safe with this pick. - If SD takes Meyer, don't be surprised to see him pitch in the majors if there is a season. - COL is on Hassell and Kjerstad and aren't keen on the arms that are around this pick range. - LAA could still take Detmers, and that Pete Crow is a dark-horse candidate for this spot. - Our boy Ed Howard goes to Arizona with pick 18. Teams in the 20's hope he falls to them but sources indicate he won't get out of the teens. - Kelley goes to the Braves at pick 25.
  7. Law's mock up to 11.
  8. Wonderful. Thanks for all the information you share. It makes draft time so much more fun.
  9. Will post Law's top 11 once I get out of this meeting.
  10. Also on Veen going #2 overall from BA. I don't like Martin falling into KC's lap at all.
  11. Thank you.
  12. An under-slot Ed Howard has been in the back of my mind for a while now. I figured we'd hear some rumblings of it at this point. I would be on board if this allots for some big value in subsequent rounds.
  13. You've mentioned quite a bit linking Kelley with the White Sox, but what about Abel? I think he's my preferred prep arm if they go that route.
  14. @Harold's Leg Lift You obviously aren't enamored with Bailey seeing as he's not on your preference list. Curious your overall thoughts and assessment of him?
  15. Thanks for the insight. While prep selections with the 1st round pick are seemingly more exciting to me because it would be "different", I think I would be okay with an approach similar to last season. Grab the college arm or hitter first and then grab some of the more projectable prep arms/bats with picks 2 and 3.
  16. This route as in Kelley? Or as in a prep pitcher at this spot?
  17. Yep. They will meet in the middle. 80ish games sounds right.
  18. Also from the chat.
