  1. Moore starting game 1 is fantastic. Kudos to Maddon. I'm stoked.
  2. Just aced my job interview, Sox get the 13th pick, and now I'm going drinking. Today is a good day.
  3. If the Sox go ahead and win, they drop to the 15th pick, with the possibility of falling to 17th depending on if Cleveland and Washington win or lose later today. I might be wrong though. Someone double check my work.
  4. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 01:18 PM) A loss today locks up the 13th pick for the Sox, I believe. Yep.
  5. That's unfortunate. He's just awful. 4 more years of MLB Gameday Audio I suppose.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 11:05 AM) Yeah, I am going to say I know the Sox aren't signing a Type A OF or RP. I would agree fully. I'm indifferent to the pick protection aspect this year. I'd just much rather have the 13th pick versus the 17th.
  7. QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:02 AM) Could be dicey if we win Wed (which means Toronto loses) and Cleveland loses. Then it depends on tiebreakers, but if we fall out of the bottom 15, Kenny figures to give away the pick. We want the Reds and Nats to win as well.
  8. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Sep 28, 2011 -> 10:25 AM) Agreed on not thinking KW is the best for that job, but it is what it is. They don't have to go into full rebuild to be successful in a few years, but they will have to build up the scouting department and development in the minors, especially when it comes to position prospects. We need to be able to develop consistent hitters from our system, while our pitching has actually been pretty good (though our SP prospects are dreadful currently). A few big investments in upgrading those areas and spending in the draft with some key trades here and there and the Sox could be a force again in a few years. They have enough talent to trade and build upon that they should be able to cut down the rebuild time significantly. Agreed about where money needs to be spent. But the White Sox obviously cannot continue to be dead last in bonus spending if they want to successfully rebuild in a timely manner. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/...itures-2007-11/ ^^^ That simply will not do, especially during a rebuild of sorts. It's almost embarassing consdering the resources available to the organization. Hopefully Kenny has or will have a nice talk and persuasive presentation for Jerry on the returns from investing in amateur talent.
  9. Sox Seem Resigned to Rebuilding Kenny pretty blunt about it too with some choice quotes. I for one am looking forward to a rebuild, even though I'm not sure Kenny is the one to be in charge of it. Bring it on.
  10. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 09:34 PM) Ugh, your posts are so absolute. Quentin, Pierre, AJ and one or both of Danks and Floyd are gone at the very least. Kw plans on contending within 3 years so there is plenty of room and reason to bring back Buehrle. They've been talking as well which tells me they are bringing him back. But please continue. AJ is on his way out you say? Awesome.
  11. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:50 PM) He say anything else about plans for next year? Not really. Just not to expect any big signings. For obvious reason.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:45 PM) There's no way this team has a type a FA in the budget. Agreed. Kenny even stated today not to expect any noteworthy free agent signings. The possibility of falling from the 13th pick to 17th doesn't make me happy is all.
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:41 PM) Doesn't this upcoming draft blow? This year's, on the surface, was loaded. It's not considered that strong currently, but it's still way too early to make conclusive statements on it.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 08:37 PM) F*** that, get Mark! a win. I was hoping for that until everyone we needed to win decided to start losing.
  15. Hey White Sox, stop f***ing up your draft position. Thx.
  16. Draft slot isn't looking so hot if the Sox keep winning. Cinci, Cleveland, and Toronto (obviously) losing at the moment. Washington tied. Possible for the Sox to fall from the 13th pick to 17th if they win today and tomorrow.
  17. BenBadler Ben Badler Great deal for White Sox RT @MDGonzales Sox get Double-A power arm Jhan Marinez in Guillen deal, joining infielder Ozzie Martinez 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply

  19. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2011 -> 12:16 AM) for real? One would assume Joe is joking.
  20. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 11:06 PM) Among many things Konerko said: This regime had run its course. He stated that tonight? Wow.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:40 PM) Well, sounds like we're going to go into rebuilding mode next year based on Kenny's no comment. In response to what question?
  22. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 26, 2011 -> 10:15 PM) I'll guess Yelich and Skipworth. I'd be stoked if we got Yelich. I don't think it's going to happen though.
  23. I won't lie. I wanted to see Joey Bats blast one.
