2012 AL Central Catch-All thread
SI_JonHeyman Jon Heyman #royals, who've already added 2 pitchers, talking trades for starters. In on gio gonzalez, others. Wil myers coveted by others 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply That would be pretty neat if the Royals got Gio. All they need is some pitching and they become pretty scary.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) And to me, last place and finishing .500 is the same thing---no playoffs. There's no difference to me. I rather finish last and have a real farm system, than finish .500 and no farm system. That's why this team is stuck in the middle. My sentiments as well, as unpopular as the opinion might be. Personally, I'll be attending more Sox games if they decide to rebuild.

Buster_ESPN Buster Olney TEX interest in Mark Buehrle makes complete sense, because they've wanted C.J. Wilson back only at more modest price -- and MB less costly. 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply

QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 04:07 PM) Yea of course - would Anthopoulos? Possibly. It isn't too one sided. Drabek has some warts as well and hasn't proven much at the Major League level yet.

QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 02:07 PM) With the number of teams in on him, anything in the high teens would not surprise me. With the numbers of teams in on him, we have to be nearing 4 year territory soon.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 11:31 AM) Can't blame Buehrle for wanting a no-trade. Hell, if these teams knew anything about him, they shouldn't even approach him without knowing a no-trade is a must. I'm sticking with Washington as his next team. Unless Kenny is going for it this year, I hope Mark signs anywhere but Chicago. It would be kind of neat if Washington signed both CJ and MB.

Packages that would net us a haul
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 4, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) I don't recall this at all. If so, make that f***up #4375375362347234734 by KW since 2008. Kenny asked for Holland straight up for Danks. The Rangers said f*** no, we need more than that if I recall correctly.

QUOTE (flavum @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 06:15 PM) If they play the "Jerry to the Rescue" card again with Buehrle, I'll puke. It's going to happen. Then M56 will elevate us from below average to mediocre. I can't wait.

Pretty excited for the trades. Here's hoping Kenny realizes what needs to be done.

Will Gordo rebound in '12?
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 11:48 AM) So, in essence, his rookie year. After the last two, I'd take that. With his newly found defensive acumen, I'd take that in a heartbeat.

2012 MLB Catch All thread
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 10:35 PM) This one will end (start?) badly. 34 years old, K rate plunged to 7.3 last season while sporting an average walk rate and a low HR/FB despite the average GB%. Eh, quite a bit of risk here. 3.67 xFIP, we'll see if it's a precursor. I'm not sure what to make of the signing just yet, but it's worth noting that the Marlins new park is even more pitcher friendly than Petco. An aside, M56 could probably do mighty fine in such a park.

Rosenthal: "Danks will go"
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 1, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) I'd much rather have Grandal than Alonso, even though KW probably prefers Alonso because he's ML ready. I don't think we have any place to put him though. Maybe LF? Alonso/De Aza/Vicedo would work I guess, if you bench Rios. But Grandal, a switch-hitting, power-hitting C with a solid throwing arm that is a year or two away -- sign me up. Gives Flowers time to make or break, and then we dump one or the other for pitching in 2013. I've been trumpeting Grandal since last season. Especially since Mesoraco is MLB ready and at this point a better prospect. Let's not forget that the Sox were in on Yasmani, and might have drafted him if the Reds didn't pop him 1 pick before them.
