  1. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 04:19 PM) At this point I'd take a 4th OF. He currently ranks as a type B free agent and anyone who trades for him will assuredly offer him arbitration. He should bring back something that is at least moderately interesting.
  2. QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 08:44 PM) Jared Mitchell...so far for July... .359/.468/.718/1.186 18Ks in 39 ABs. I hope something clicks and he can cut the K's, as striking out at such a clip isn't going to allow him any sort of success.
  3. QUOTE (bobryansson @ Jul 8, 2011 -> 10:00 PM) Hawk! Shut up about the 4th out! Yes, it could/should have bee turned, but he's fast! It was Floyd's batting practice pitching that gave up the 6 runs! And, oh yes, the home run given up to a nobody hitter. Hawk somehow makes unbearable White Sox baseball even worse. He's such an embarrassment.
  4. I would try to take advantage of the Red's need for some consistent pitching. Dangle Danks and try to acquire Grandal as the Red's have catching depth. Mesoraco is near MLB ready and ahead on the depth chart. The Sox desperately need a legit catching prospect and I hate AJ Pierzynski with a passion.
  5. Gregor at the Herald posted an article suggesting that the Sox could acquire Teheran or Arodys for Quentin. Pretty hilarious. Sox beat writers are such a clueless bunch.
  6. This thread is a massive overreaction.
  7. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 04:02 PM) Fielding pct, doesn't say the whole story If you don't understand how useless fielding percentage is, any further argument is a lost cause.
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:23 PM) Somebody explain to me the Brent Morel at bat when the bases were loaded? I was listening and and Farmer insinuated Morel swung at three straight balls instead of just taking the f***ing walk. Were those three pitches clearly out of the zone? Nah. Morel had a 3 - 0 count, took 2 called strikes, and swung at ball 4 high in the zone.
  9. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) I better keep quiet on this one or the site may blow up... Oh lord. If the Sox trade Dayan, the meltdowns would be astronomical.
  10. Viciedo is Sickels' prospect of the day. http://www.minorleagueball.com/2011/7/4/22...s-Game-baseball
  11. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Jul 3, 2011 -> 08:26 PM) To be honest I see a lot of Carlos lee in him This. The comparison is apt both offensively and defensively.
  12. Saladino hit his 10th HR of the year. 5 in his last 7 games. Kid is surging.
  13. Semien signed and is headed to Kanny.
  14. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 11:45 AM) Yes. And he was a butcher before that as well. His defense is not good.
  15. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 29, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) The situation is mind-boggling to say the least. It really isn't. Teams play the service time game all the time. I find more fault with the Sox calling up Viciedo last year where he accrued 83 days of service time while primarily sitting on the bench.
  16. Keenyn_Walker Keenyn Walker Ya buddy! Finally becoming a part of the Chicago White Sox family!! #Bossin 2 minutes ago Favorite Retweet Reply
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 27, 2011 -> 10:54 AM) This deserves its own topic. Great to see a high pick moving through the system nicely. While doing well in Kanny is an accomplishment, performing in W-S will be much more indicative of Petricka's talent level.
  18. QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Jun 23, 2011 -> 07:55 PM) Oh yeah he definitely has a legitimate excuse for coming out of the gate slowly. I'm pleased that the current consensus is that he can stick at SS. Opinion was very divided initially.
  19. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 09:58 AM) Why? How much have you watched him play? Haven't watched him at all. I'm going off the opinion of professionals that do watch him though.
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 21, 2011 -> 08:15 AM) "45 days on the active roster." ^^ That.
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 11:40 PM) Well that and 30+ stolen bases. Kuhn will never do that. I don't buy Kuhn's defense either.
  22. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jun 20, 2011 -> 11:42 PM) I'd assume it's an eligibility issue. He's no longer eligible to win rookie of the year, which is what a lot of publications use. It absolutely is. I've repeated it many times. Due to how long he was on 25 man last year his rookie eligibility has been used up and thus he isn't eligible for almost all the "Top Prospect" lists. For reference: Editor's note: To be eligible for the Top 50 list, players must have rookie eligibility. To qualify for rookie status, a player must not have exceeded 130 at-bats or 50 innings pitched in the Major Leagues, or accumulated more than 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club or clubs during the 25-player limit period, excluding time on the disabled list or in military service.)
