  1. Pretty excited to see Britton for the first time. Great sinker, plus slider, decent changeup.
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 08:51 PM) Now Rios homers down 5 in the 9th. Was the gamethread really closed for being too negative? Is there something to be positive about?
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2011 -> 07:41 PM) You have no idea how bad Tillman looks. He looks dreadful, and is even being squeezed a bit. It's unfathomable that the Sox don't have a run yet.
  4. Kenny needs to phone Anthropoulos and get some tips on successfully dumping overpaid underachieving center fielders.
  5. Tillman has nothing. Without the curve and change, he should be getting pounded. I still wonder how he lost 4-5 MPH on his fastball.
  6. I really wish Sale was in the minors honing his craft as a starter.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 09:01 PM) He'll never make it to the majors. No kidding.
  8. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 08:54 PM) Jordan Danks just hit a HR. I can't wait to see Jordan and his 40% strikeout rate in the Bigs.
  9. Drew Lee is absolutely beasting in Kanny. Yes it's a small sample size, but I'd like to see him face more age appropriate competition. He has his 3rd HR of the season tonight.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 09:55 PM) If we were most teams, Beckham and Sale would still be considered prospects and we could brag about our awesome farm system. I'd prefer Sale still as a prospect. Starting in the minors and such. Prospects "graduating" is also a lousy excuse for having a poor farm system. Those graduations are replenished in organizations that have a semblance of depth.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 08:30 PM) FanGraphs says Alex Torres is the Rays 9th best prospect. He's probably a top 3 prospect in the White Sox system. Without question. The Rays have the 2nd best farm system in baseball while the Sox are bottom 3. I'm quite jealous of the pitching they routinely churn out.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Apr 21, 2011 -> 02:30 PM) Start him now I hope? I also hope. It seems they are fast-tracking him as a reliever though.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 20, 2011 -> 01:56 PM) And McPherson is at .314 in Charlotte. Might be a move brewing. Not happening.
  14. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:45 PM) Uh I'm fairly certain next year is the last year we control Danks Correct.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2011 -> 10:01 PM) Me too. How's that No. 1 draft pick doing, Mitchell? Is he ready? Not even close.
  16. Beckham has looked downright awful at the plate lately.
  17. Heidenreich was shelled. 0.2 IP 4 H 6 ER 1 BB 0 SO
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 15, 2011 -> 09:12 PM) Could've had Trout. Instead, we take another college football player with a long swing. A high schooler with our 1st round pick? Unheard of. I still can't find fault with the Mitchell pick though.
  19. If this isn't a joke, it's a terrible thread.
  20. QUOTE (JPN366 @ Apr 14, 2011 -> 10:12 PM) Umm, Tyler Flowers came out of tonight's game after one at bat. Wasn't hit by a pitch, doesn't say he was replaced due to injury. Traded? Injured.
  21. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 13, 2011 -> 04:52 PM) How long before we start hearing that KW is interested in promoting Petricka to help the bullpen? Addison Reed would be more likely. And it certainly isn't out of the question.
  22. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 10:06 PM) He's playing the "Have to protect his arm" card. f***ing apologist mouthpiece. Buehrle goes out there, gets three outs on 12 pitches, and we all go home happy. Dude is unlistenable.
  23. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Apr 11, 2011 -> 09:46 PM) Thornton threw an 0-2 hanging curveball down the middle. That isnt the Matt Thornton of last year. It was his slider. The one he hardly throws because it is bad. He doesn't have a curveball.
