I'm not an accountant, but I understand a few things about taking a loss. For example, if, near the end of the fiscal year, the team is looking at a taxable gain/profit of $X Dollars, all they have to do is pay themselves or other family members a bonus, no matter how large or undeserved, and voila you have a loss.

I see that Wolkow is 4 for 4, all K's. About a month ago I heard some guy on MLBN say that if a guy has a severe strikeout problem in the minors, he hardly ever would stick as a major leaguer. Paraphrasing. I tried to come up with an exception to that. I'm sure there are a few.
