Colson didn't look very coordinated when he scored. He didn't have to slide and he just rolled across the plate. Lucky he didn't hurt himself.

Certainly not ranked that high or even close to it, partly because he was nowhere at start of season. Since then, he has been one of the best hitters in Minors. Who has been better? Not many. If he finishes strong with Mariners, he'll be ranked.

Zyhir Hope is certainly comparable to Smith. The other two, not so much. But, we're talking Skubal, not Castillo.

I also saw Satchel Paige pitch for the St. Louis Browns in 1949, I believe. My Dad wanted to see him pitch, so I got to tag along. Never forgot it, obviously. He threw a few eephus pitches, and the crowd roared. They loved him.

I do. I think I have a few years on Mighty Mite. I went to several Cub games against Brooklyn. I saw all those guys. Jackie, Campy, Newk. Couple more. Junior Gillum? As you can imagine, there were a lot of black guys in the crowd. Not sitting together or anything organized, just many throughout the stands. And they were quiet. No overt cheering. But you know they were moved. And, I never saw any trouble brewing anywhere from anyone.

Back to Colson. First three pitches were balls, then 2 meatballs over the middle for strikes. Did they put the Take Sign on, or did he just not swing?
