Someone take him, please. Please. Enter Getz and his crack scouting staff. Just 8 months earlier, give or take, Sox gave Vielma $400,000 to sign. All he did was hit. "We gotta trade this guy. We need an outfielder who can't hit, as long as he's a right-handed hitter. What? What?? You say you need a pitcher, too. No problem, we'll include Mason Adams. But that's it. You can't have any more."

Let me get this straight. At deadline, we trade for a 36 year old reliever who can't throw strikes, a CF who can't hit, and an expensive starter who has one great game in 3 starts and give up 2, count 'em, 2 primo hitting prospects, one of which is a year away.

Thanks for that research, particularly Lackey. It shows 2 things. 1. Pitching in minors > pitching in college, and 2. wood bats make a difference. Our boy Roch probably agrees.

Yes, and Fedde seems to have DFA written all over him if he has another poor performance vs Cubs this week. It seems like he gets an annual DFA.

To me, the two biggest unknowns are Peters and Bonemer. I have no idea how good Peters might get. With an off season of hard-core workouts, he might get some real power next year and be more valuable. Bonemer has to find a position and hit. If Doyle doesn't hit by mid 2027, he probably won't.

Yah, I'm not sure what those 2 guys want. I once thought Mune will go to Dodgers and pair up with his buddy Ohtani and replace Freeman, whose contract will expire at end of 2027. Vargas?? Probably just wants to test Free Agent waters one time.
